Physician - Deputy Chief of Staff (Regular Ft)
The Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center is seeking a Physician for our Deputy Chief of Staff position. This position is open to current VHA employee in surgical specialties. Preferred candidates will have advanced clinical experience as well as demonstrated administrative and leadership skills.
The Deputy Chief of Staff's responsibilities include serving as the lead physician during absence of the Chief of Staff. The incumbent will work with the clinical service chiefs and performance measure champions to improve processes to meet the performance measure goals and improve utilization management. Reviews requests for contracts and helps determine the best way to obtain the required resources. When problems arise with transfers into and out of the Robert J. Dole VAMC, works with service chiefs, residents, transfer coordinators, as well as the other facilities as needed to effectively coordinate transfers. The Deputy supervises a variety of staff, who are aligned under the Chief of Staff Office, and serves on a broad spectrum of medical center committees, task forces, etc. Allocation will be 40% administrative and 60% clinical in the discipline of the incumbent's board certification. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package. VHA Physician Total Rewards.
