Physician (Endocrinology)

The North Florida/ South Georgia VA Healthcare System's Specialty Care Service is seeking an experienced and dynamic board-certified Endocrinologist. Ideal applicants are those who want to contribute to the achievement of quality care standards, as well as the growth and development of a VA academic hospital program. You must be an excellent communicator and team player who is adaptable to the needs of a growing medical center.

This is an open continuous announcement that will remain open until filled. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis. This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Treating patients with endocrine diseases. Common disorders are: thyroid abnormalities, diabetes, hypertension, infertility, cholesterol disorders, and endocrine neoplasias. Analyzing, examining, and investigating patients and their medical histories for signs and symptoms of hormonal imbalances. Discussing diagnose with patients, explaining treatment options, and giving advice on medications, lifestyle and dietary changes, and other preventative measures. Carrying out follow-up appointments, monitoring patient progress, adjusting treatment plans and medications, and updating patient records. Conducting research and studies on the endocrine system and its diseases, disorders, and conditions to develop new treatment techniques. Supporting patients with serious or complex endocrine conditions and their loved ones. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm (These work hours are subject to change depending on inpatient call, and the outpatient needs of a Veteran.)
