Physician (Family Medicine)

About the Position: This position is at Naval Branch Medical Clinic Port Hueneme, CA. May require occasional travel to an alternate treatment facility location at Point Mugu. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Medical malpractice liability insurance is not required for federal civilian healthcare providers as they are covered by the Federal Tort Claims Act (28 U.S.C. § 1346(b)) while acting within the scope of their employment. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Serves as a technical authority in their area of expertise and works under administrative and policy direction of the Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command (NMRTC) Port Hueneme Department Head within Medical Homeport.

Examine patients; determine need for and orders laboratory test, x-rays and other procedures necessary to complete medical facts on the case.

Perform administrative functions to include performing military physical examinations and medical evaluation boards.

Complete medical work-up as pertinent to the type of examination.

Provide professional guidance to military and civilian medical personnel assigned to the clinic.

Perform administrative duties inherent to medical center and clinical activities.

Attend and participate in clinical and administrative staff meetings
