Physician- Geriatrics & Extended Care- Community Living Center Medical Director

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Role and Responsibilities: Oversee the service, quality, and safety of the Community Living Center along with leadership members of the CLC and the organization Attend daily hospital or CLC huddle to maintain communication with hospital teams Assist with CLC Consultation as needed in hospital or from non-VA settings Serve as CLC Attending for majority of the year in rotation Understand, manage, and report data related to/from CLC (local and national) Serve as a member of the GEC Leaders Group (meeting monthly and ad hoc) Work closely with Community Living Center Assistant Director, Nurse Manager, Social Worker, MDS Coordinator, QI Nurse, and providers in rotation to ensure efficient and safe daily operations of the nursing home Serve as Chair or Co-Chair of CLC Steering Committee Lead CLC strategic planning, performance improvement, quality assurance, continuous survey readiness, and committee/work groups in collaboration Ensure VERA reimbursement matches the care provider on the CLC each year Assist in review, understanding, and revision of CLC policy and VHA guidance Assist with response and management of Action Items related to CLC Assist with response and management of emergencies as it relates to CLC Serve as one local point of contact and subject matter expert as it relates to geriatric care and nursing home care Maintain licensures and certifications requisite for credentials and privileges at the OKC VA HCS at all times Meet ethical and professional standards as written in the Medical Staff Bylaws and ensure that work relations are in compliance with facility standards and expectations as written and communicated Other duties or cross-coverage as assigned by Associate Chief of Staff VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package.
