Physician (Hematology/Oncology) - SIGN ON BONUS

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. VHA Physician Total Rewards. Duties: The Kansas City VA Medical Center is recruiting a full-time hematology/oncology physician. The Kansas City VA Medical Center provides comprehensive cancer care. The hematology/oncology physician is responsible for providing comprehensive care. Duties of this position include but are not limited to: Taking history, physical, admission, evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment, including consultations. Ability to make assessments of patients presenting with acute care complaints, diseases, and injuries. Ability to provide consultation for, diagnose, and treat hematologic diseases. Ability to administer chemotherapeutic agents to patients with malignancies. Rounding with residents and fellows on the inpatient ward. Covers call rotation with other physicians. Participates in tele-medicine services between the main medical center and the various Community Based Outpatient Clinics. Counsels and advise patients diagnosed with malignancy. Orders and interprets diagnostic studies. Provides ongoing outpatient care for assigned case load. Prescribes and refills medications within the defined scope of practice. Provides education and counseling of patients and families.
