The West Palm Beach VA Medical Center is seeking an experienced and dynamic Infectious Disease Physician. Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME) Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement) Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification) Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting The West Palm Beach VA Healthcare System's physician will provide patient care for Infectious Disease Section of the Medicine Service. The Incumbent is accountable to the Chief of Medicine assuring the most effective delivery of care in Infectious Disease. Scope of practice is inclusive of diagnosis and provision of Infectious Disease Management. Core Privileges are specific to the subspecialty of Infectious Disease consisting of diagnosis and treatment of unusual and complicated infections, providing HIV/PC management of the patients with HIV. Duties include but are not limited to: Evaluating, diagnosing, consulting, and ordering diagnostic studies Provides face-to-face and consultation Providing consultative series on patients referred from other sections of the Hospital and affiliated outpatient clinic The Incumbent will be periodically involved in supervising Residents and Students. Participates in the educational programs for Infectious Disease physicians as well as other members of the medical staff. Participates in monitoring the quality, safety and appropriateness of patient care. Participates in quality assurance programs and chart reviews. Demonstrates ethical conduct and serve as a positive role model to others at all levels of the organization. Attends Medicine Service monthly staff meetings and Medical/Dental quarterly staff meetings. Completes medical records in accordance with Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of the Medical Staff. Participate in Medical Staff committee assignments. Performs other duties assigned by the Chief of Medicine. Miscellaneous activities of the Medical Service including committee assignments, QA activities, and other special projects that help fulfill and/or enhance the mission of the Department of Veterans Affairs as assigned by the Chief of Medicine Service or West Palm Beach VAMC Executive Leadership. Participate in, and attend, CME activities and VA continuing educational activities. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (Note: Work schedules are determined and approved by the supervisor. The incumbent may be required to work various shifts on a permanent or temporary basis based on facility/patient care needs).
