Physician - Neurologist

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. The facility provides care to approximately 82,000 veterans in the midlands and upstate SC. CBOCs are located in Anderson, Greenville, Spartanburg, Florence, Orangeburg, Sumter, and Rock Hill, and provide primary care, mental health, and telemedicine services. He/she is to ensure the quality and timeliness of the services provided, customer satisfaction, as well as compliance with the standards of accrediting bodies such as the Joint Commission and the Inspector General's Combined Assessment Program. The selectee is expected to collaborate with other services as appropriate. The physician is expected to participate in and/or manage all aspects of a general Neurology program, to include clinical, administrative, academic, and research components if warranted. The physician is expected to manage patient workload within available staffing, which may include nurse practitioners. The physician is expected to perform the usual administrative components of patient care management, such as: timely documentation of progress notes, orders and consultation findings in electronic medical record, dictation and electronic signature of OP reports. The incumbent's duties also include (but are not limited to) the provision of neurologic evaluation and treatment of Veterans with compassion on both an inpatient and outpatient basis along with the education and counseling of Veterans and their families on medical conditions/treatments; Responsible for diagnosis and management of various types of neurological disorders.
