Physician (Occupational Medicine)

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serves in the Public Health Directorate, Deputy Chief of Staff for Public Health, Office of The Surgeon General. Responsible for providing staff medical advice on all aspects of Occupational and Environmental Medicine.

Develops and issues clinical practice guidelines, medical surveillance protocols, and diagnostic standards.

Makes authoritative medical determinations required under Army Surety and Personnel Reliability Program policies.

Evaluates health risks using diagnostic, laboratory, epidemiological, and exposure data in nuclear, biological, and chemical environments.

Provides physician-level consultation and clinical oversight to Army organizations and Department of Defense agencies.

Evaluates force structure, clinical staffing, and provider competency requirements for medical readiness.

Provides advanced clinical and technical training to Army Surety Medicine providers.

Authors policies, regulations, and standards governing medical support to Army Surety Programs.

Represents the U.S. Army Medical Command at high-level conferences, interfacing with the Department of Defense, federal agencies, and academic institutions.

Reviews and contributes to proposed policies and documents drafted by various Department of Defense and Department of the Army staffs.
