Physician - Psychiatrist
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. The Staff Psychiatrist will serve at the Erie West VA Community Based Outpatient Clinic, and is responsible for delivering the best possible medical care to our veteran patients. This care must be delivered in accordance with hospital policy and meet community standards for both inpatients and outpatients. Duties include, but are not limited: Maintains current knowledge and procedural skills. They must be able to deliver full service throughout the full spectrum of care within their area of expertise and within their scope of privileging. Has ultimate decision making capacity and ultimate responsibility for the care rendered. This control is exercised in and educationally appropriate way, and in accordance with VA policies regarding supervision. Functions as a cooperative and collegial team member with their entire department across different disciplines, and collaborate with other departments as necessary for the best possible outcomes for all our Veteran patients. Participates in department staff meetings Participates in the educational activities and academic obligations of the University Affiliate; will involve teaching and supervision of residents, fellows, and students in your specific area of expertise Complies with the Syracuse VA Medical Center Bylaws Serves on peer review and other committees as requested. Complies with licensing, credentialing, privileging, cyber security, and all other requirements of the VHA and the Syracuse VA Medical Center. Maintains computer access privileges according to policy. Completes medical records and relevant documentations timely in accordance with local and regional VA regulations. Participates in ongoing process improvements within their specific areas of expertise.
