1. Job Purpose<\/b>
<\/p>
To plan and provide physiotherapy and comprehensive\nrehabilitation services for children and adults with disabilities<\/b> in a community\-based\napproach<\/b>. The role focuses on improving functional abilities, independence,\nand quality of life through home\-based, centre\-based and community\-level\ninterventions, in coordination with a multidisciplinary team and community\nstakeholders.

2. Key Responsibilities<\/b>
<\/p>
A. Clinical Assessment and Intervention<\/b>
<\/p>- Conduct\n detailed physiotherapy assessments<\/b> for children and adults with\n various disabilities (neuromuscular, musculoskeletal, developmental\n delays, cerebral palsy, stroke, spinal cord injuries, etc.).
<\/li>- Develop individualized therapy plans (ITPs)<\/b> with clear functional goals,\n timelines, and outcome indicators.
<\/li>- Provide regular physiotherapy sessions<\/b> (centre\-based, home\-based and field\n visits) using evidence\-based techniques.
<\/li>- Train\n and guide caregivers and family members<\/b> on home exercise\n programmes, positioning, handling, and daily living activities.
<\/li>- Monitor\n and document progress of beneficiaries<\/b> and modify treatment plans\n as required.
<\/li><\/ul>B. Community\-Based Rehabilitation (CBR) Activities<\/b>
<\/p>- Participate\n in community surveys, screening camps and outreach visits<\/b> to\n identify people with disabilities.
<\/li>- Work\n closely with community workers, ASHA, Anganwadi workers, village\n volunteers, and local leaders<\/b> to promote early identification and\n timely referral.
<\/li>- Support community\-based follow\-up<\/b> of beneficiaries to ensure continuity of\n care and adherence to therapy through community rehab workers
<\/li>- Promote\n inclusion of persons with disabilities in Anganwadi centres, schools,\n livelihood activities, and community events<\/b>.
<\/li><\/ul>C. Assistive Devices and Mobility Aids<\/b>
<\/p>- Assess\n the need for mobility aids and assistive devices<\/b> (wheelchairs,\n walkers, crutches, AFOs, splints, CP chairs, standing frames, etc.).
<\/li>- Provide measurements, trial, fitting, and basic training<\/b> in the use and\n maintenance of assistive devices.
<\/li>- Coordinate\n with vendors, organisations and donors for procurement and distribution<\/b> of aids and appliances with help project coordinator
<\/li>- Follow\n up on usage, safety, and effectiveness<\/b> of mobility aids in the\n community.
<\/li><\/ul>D. Capacity Building and Training<\/b>
<\/p>- Conduct training sessions<\/b> for caregivers, community workers, Anganwadi\n staff, teachers, and other frontline workers on:
<\/li>- Basic\n physiotherapy & home\-based care
<\/li> - Prevention\n of deformities and contractures
<\/li> - Safe\n transfers and positioning
<\/li> - Early\n identification of developmental delays
<\/li><\/ul> - Prepare\n and use IEC materials<\/b> (posters, flip charts, videos, handouts) for\n awareness and education.
<\/li><\/ul>E. Documentation, Reporting and Data Management<\/b>
<\/p>- Maintain accurate and updated records<\/b> of assessments, intervention plans,\n follow\-up notes, and outcomes.
<\/li>- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports<\/b> for the project and donors as\n required.
<\/li>- Contribute\n to case studies, success stories, and best practices<\/b> documentation.
<\/li>- Ensure\n data confidentiality and ethical handling of beneficiary information.
<\/li><\/ul>F. Coordination and Networking<\/b>
<\/p>- Work\n as part of a multidisciplinary team<\/b> (physiotherapist, occupational\n therapist, speech therapist, psychologist, social worker, special\n educator, community workers).
<\/li>- Coordinate\n referrals to hospitals, rehabilitation centers, specialists, government\n departments<\/b> and social security schemes.
<\/li>- Participate\n in review meetings, case conferences and community coordination\n meetings<\/b>.
<\/li><\/ul>G. Quality, Safeguarding and Compliance<\/b>
<\/p>- Follow clinical protocols, ethical standards and safety guidelines<\/b> of the\n organisation.
<\/li>- Ensure child protection and safeguarding<\/b> principles are followed at all\n times.
<\/li>- Support\n the organization in maintaining project and donor compliances<\/b> related to rehabilitation services.
<\/li><\/ul>

3. Qualification and Experience<\/b>
<\/p>- Education:<\/b> Bachelor\u2019s or Master\u2019s in Physiotherapy (BPT / MPT) from a recognized\n institution.
<\/li>- Registration:<\/b> Valid registration with the respective State Physiotherapy Council (as\n applicable).
<\/li>- Experience:<\/b>
<\/li>- Minimum 0\u2013 1 years<\/b> of experience in physiotherapy, preferably in community\-based\n rehabilitation / disability sector / NGO / hospital<\/b> setting.
<\/li>- Experience\n in working with children with developmental disabilities<\/b> and adults\n with Neuro and ortho conditions<\/b> will be an added advantage.

4. Skills and Competencies<\/b>
<\/p>- Strong clinical skills<\/b> in assessment, goal\-setting and intervention for\n persons with disabilities.
<\/li>- Ability\n to work in field settings<\/b>, conduct home visits and travel within\n the community.
<\/li>- Good communication and counseling skills<\/b> with children, families, and\n community stakeholders.
<\/li>- Proficiency\n in local language<\/b> and basic English (reading and writing reports).
<\/li>- Ability\n to train and guide community workers and caregivers<\/b>.
<\/li>- Good documentation and computer skills<\/b> (MS Word, Excel, basic data\n entry).
<\/li>- Strong teamwork, empathy, patience and problem\-solving skills<\/b>.
