Pipeline Officer

We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Pipeline Officer to join our Gas Operations East team, based in Dandenong, VIC, supporting operations across the Pakenham–Wollert Pipeline, on a Permanent Full-Time basis.
Reporting to the Team Leader Asset Operations East, you will be responsible for the safe and reliable operation of APA's gas transmission assets through routine inspections, maintenance, and repair activities, while ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out regular inspections of pipelines and related equipment to identify any damage, leaks, corrosion, or safety concerns.
- Assist with the maintenance, repair, and installation of pipeline infrastructure.
- Maintain pipeline sites and easements, including mowing, slashing, and weed control.
- Keep accurate records of inspections, maintenance work, repairs, and equipment condition.
- Work independently across the pipeline network, responding to issues and helping ensure safe and reliable operations.
About You
- Trade qualification or relevant hands-on experience, preferably in oil and gas, utilities, mining, or another heavy industry.
- Experience carrying out maintenance, inspections, or operational activities in a field-based environment.
- Comfortable working independently and travelling regularly across operational areas.
- Strong focus on safety and following safe work procedures.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, mowers, and line trimmers.
- Able to read and understand basic technical drawings, plans, and work instructions.
