The Pizza Cook is responsible for preparing high-quality pizzas and related menu items in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This role ensures that all food is prepared according to recipes, portion standards, and health regulations, maintaining the restaurant’s quality and reputation. The Pizza Cook plays a key role in kitchen operations, contributing to food preparation, cleanliness, and customer satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities



Food Preparation & Cooking

  • Prepare, bake, and finish pizzas according to recipes and established standards.
  • Operate pizza ovens and other kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Prepare pizza sauces, toppings, and other ingredients as needed.
  • Ensure proper portion control and minimize waste.


Quality & Food Safety

  • Maintain high standards of food quality, taste, and presentation.
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Ensure workstations and kitchen equipment are clean and organized at all times.
  • Monitor inventory levels of pizza ingredients and communicate needs to the kitchen manager.


Customer Service & Teamwork

  • Respond quickly and positively to customer requests or special orders.
  • Work as part of the kitchen team to ensure smooth and timely service.
  • Assist with other kitchen duties as assigned (e.g., prepping salads, appetizers, or desserts).
  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude.


Qualifications

Skills & Knowledge

  • Basic knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen operations.
  • Familiarity with pizza-making techniques and equipment is preferred.
  • Understanding of food safety standards and proper kitchen hygiene practices.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a high-volume environment.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.


Experience

  • Previous experience as a cook, line cook, or pizza maker preferred but not required.
  • On-the-job training will be provided for candidates with a willingness to learn.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable working in hot conditions near ovens and kitchen equipment.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.


Work Environment

  • Fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Exposure to heat, flames, and kitchen equipment.
