Planner - Mobile Maintenance

Reporting to the Chief Engineer, the Planner – Mobile Maintenance will be instrumental in:
- Building a World-Class Maintenance Program: By developing, coordinating, and overseeing maintenance schedules for our Caterpillar mobile equipment fleet, you will help establish and enhance our maintenance operations to set industry standards.
- Operational Efficiency: Collaborate with various teams to streamline operations, minimize equipment downtime, and optimize resource utilization.
- Maintenance Strategy: Implement and refine preventive maintenance programs to ensure the longevity and performance of our equipment.
Location: Blackwater Mine site - located 160 km southwest of Prince George, BC.
Schedule: 2 weeks on/ 2 weeks off
Responsibilities
• Create, update, and manage preventative maintenance schedules for mobile equipment, ensuring timely and efficient execution of maintenance tasks. • Collaborate with maintenance supervisors and technicians to prioritize and manage work orders based on equipment criticality. Liase with the reliability team to identify ongoing issues and develop solution. Work with Supply chain to ensure that the required material is on site when required.• Handle data entry, record maintenance, and updates related to mobile equipment maintenance, including work orders, logs, and equipment history in the CMMS. • Organize and manage maintenance-related documentation, ensuring accuracy for audits, inspections, and regulatory compliance.• Work with the Supply chain team to ensure availability of inventory for spare parts for maintenance activities.• Identify and suggest improvements to streamline administrative and maintenance processes.• Perform other duties as assigned to support the maintenance team's operations.
May be required to maintain a clean-shaven appearance (i.e. no facial hair) to ensure the safe and effective use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) associated with assigned duties.
Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering or related experience.• Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with CMMS software is advantageous.• Industry Knowledge: Basic understanding of CAT mobile equipment would be advantageous.• Regulations: Familiarity with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) standards.• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.• Organizational Skills: Effective time management and organizational capabilities.• Licenses: Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Skills
• Ability to work at a remote location camp on a 2 weeks on/2 weeks off rotation• Comfortable working and living in close quarters with the team• Ability to maintain high levels of performance over 12-hour shift• Ability to lift/move up to 50lbs throughout a work shift • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions• Excellent verbal and written communication skills• Effective time management and organizational skills.
