Planner / Scheduler (Manpower Scheduler)

Diversified Construction & Design is seeking an experienced Planner/Scheduler (Manpower Scheduler) to serve as the central coordinator for labor assignments across multiple projects and approximately 300 field employees. Working under the direction of multiple Project Managers, the Scheduler maintains the company's manpower schedule, coordinates workforce assignments, tracks employee utilization, and provides real-time visibility into where employees are working and when they are available.


The Scheduler is responsible for ensuring manpower requests from Project Managers are accurately reflected in the workforce scheduling system while identifying staffing conflicts, labor shortages, and non-billable personnel. The ultimate goal is to maintain a single source of truth for workforce deployment across all clients and projects.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:



Schedule Administration

  • Receive and process manpower requests from Project Managers.
  • Maintain and update workforce schedules for approximately 300 employees.
  • Assign employees to projects based on PM direction, workforce availability, qualifications, and location
  • Ensure all schedule changes are accurately reflected in the manpower system.
  • Coordinate employee movement between projects as directed by management.


Workforce Visibility

  • Maintain a centralized manpower board showing employee assignments, client and project locations, supervisor assignments, scheduled dates/times, available employees, and non-billable personnel.
  • Provide daily and weekly manpower reports to Operations and Project Managers.


Labor Utilization Management

  • Monitor workforce utilization and identify employees who are not currently assigned to billable work.
  • Notify Operations and Project Managers of available personnel.
  • Track labor shortages, overstaffing, and scheduling conflicts.
  • Assist leadership in reducing non-billable labor time.


Communication & Coordination

  • Act as the primary coordination point between Project Managers, Operations, Foremen, and field employees regarding workforce assignments.
  • Communicate schedule updates and changes to affected personnel.
  • Track PTO, absences, and employee availability.
  • Ensure manpower requests are filled in a timely manner.
