Mission of the Role
<\/h2>
The Plant Engineer ensures the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of a specialty gas manufacturing facility supporting advanced industries. This role exists to protect operational continuity, drive technical excellence, and lead engineering initiatives that directly impact safety, compliance, and plant performance.
<\/p>
This is a hands\-on engineering leadership position inside the plant\u2014supporting daily operations while executing projects from concept through start\-up.

What Success Looks Like (Performance Objectives)
<\/h2>
Within the first 12\u201318 months, the Plant Engineer will:
<\/p>
Deliver Safe, Compliant Operations<\/b>
<\/p>Ensure all plant and equipment inspections, testing, and maintenance meet internal standards, regulatory requirements, and manufacturer specifications.
<\/p><\/li>Actively participate in safety programs, final field inspections, HAZOPs, and FMEAs.
<\/p><\/li><\/ul><\/li>Execute Engineering Projects End\-to\-End<\/b>
<\/p>Develop project plans, define requirements, sequence activities, control schedules and budgets.
<\/p><\/li>Lead plant\-based projects from design through commissioning while coordinating cross\-functional stakeholders.
<\/p><\/li><\/ul><\/li>Improve Plant Reliability & Efficiency<\/b>
<\/p>Troubleshoot process equipment issues and implement sustainable solutions.
<\/p><\/li>Identify root causes and deploy improvements that enhance uptime and operational consistency.
<\/p><\/li><\/ul><\/li>Lead Mechanical Integrity & Contractor Safety Programs<\/b>
<\/p>Oversee process safety mechanical integrity initiatives.
<\/p><\/li>Manage contractor safety compliance and hazardous/universal waste activities.
<\/p><\/li><\/ul><\/li>Design & Optimize Systems<\/b>
<\/p>Create equipment layouts and mechanical drawings using AutoCAD (2D) and Inventor (2D/3D).
<\/p><\/li>Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to ensure optimal, safe system design.
<\/p><\/li><\/ul><\/li>Serve as Technical Liaison<\/b>
<\/p>Partner with plant management, safety, quality, procurement, and corporate process safety teams to align plant initiatives with broader operational goals.
<\/p><\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ol>Key Responsibilities
<\/h2>Develop and execute detailed engineering project plans
<\/p><\/li>Determine technical requirements from customer specs and performance standards
<\/p><\/li>Control project budgets and approve expenditures
<\/p><\/li>Manage schedule changes and recommend corrective actions
<\/p><\/li>Troubleshoot and resolve engineering issues in live plant environments
<\/p><\/li>Coordinate preventive maintenance, repairs, and equipment modifications
<\/p><\/li>Oversee new equipment installations and commissioning
<\/p><\/li>Support regulatory compliance (EPA, safety standards, electrical codes)
<\/p><\/li>Contribute to the continuous improvement of standard operating procedures
<\/p><\/li><\/ul>This role requires consistent on\-site presence during core operating hours. As an exempt, salaried position, work hours may extend beyond standard schedules to meet operational demands, including occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekends.

What Makes You Successful
<\/h2>Education & Experience<\/b>
<\/p>Must have served in the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Space Force, U.S. Reserves, or U.S. National Guard.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
<\/p><\/li>\u200b<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred; Chemical considered)
<\/p><\/li>Minimum 3 years of engineering experience in a plant or industrial environment
<\/p><\/li>Project management experience preferred
<\/p><\/li><\/ul>Technical Capability<\/b>
<\/p>Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D) and Inventor (3D/2D)
<\/p><\/li>Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
<\/p><\/li>Familiarity with process equipment, mechanical systems, and regulatory compliance
