Plant Maintenance Engineer
A Plant Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the reliable, safe, and efficient operation of all plant machinery, equipment, and facilities. They plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical/electrical issues, optimize equipment performance, and support continuous improvement to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all plant equipment.
- Participates in safety, health, and environmental continuous improvement initiatives.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues
- Provide root‑cause analysis and corrective action plans
- Provides technical support for maintenance overall functions.
- Lead or support emergency repairs to minimize downtime.
- Manages and oversee daily operations of the department includes training of personnel, assigned task and schedules.
- Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements.
- Support upgrades, retrofits, and new equipment installations.
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and OEMs
- Develops systems and uses applicable tools to improve understanding of maintenance costs and utility measures relative to overall goals of reliability.
- Inspects and troubleshoots equipment as needed.
- Manages engineering stores functions to properly support plant needs, including maintenance material and contracting needs, process material needs, raw material purchasing, and physical inventory.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment manuals, and logs
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards
- Participate in audits and inspections.
- Work closely with production, quality, and safety teams.
- Train technicians on equipment operation and maintenance best practices.
Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in any mechanical or electrical studies
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical systems, PLC basics, HVAC, pumps, motors, conveyors, and industrial automation
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Good PC skills (Microsoft Words, Excel)
- 2–5+ years of experience in plant or industrial maintenance
- Willing to work overtime or during weekends if needed
