Platform Engineer - Infra & Security Team
🎯 Atlys’ mission is to enable every person on earth to travel freely.
At Atlys, we’re building the infrastructure that makes international travel seamless, driven by a clear vision to remove friction and uncertainty from global travel. Today, visas and travel documentation remain some of the most frustrating, time-consuming, and unpredictable parts of the journey. Our goal is to solve this through technology, making global travel faster, simpler, and far more predictable.
Building the future of global mobility is one of the most exciting opportunities of this decade, and we’re only getting started.
We're hiring a Platform Engineer to join our Infra & Security team. This is a hands-on engineering role where you'll work directly on our GKE clusters, CI/CD pipelines, and observability stack to keep our systems reliable and scalable as we process visas across multiple countries.
This isn’t a checkbox operations role — you’ll be building infrastructure, troubleshooting production issues, and driving reliability improvements across the platform.
The Job
Manage and optimize Kubernetes (GKE) clusters, including deployments, scaling, resource management, and upgrades
Maintain self-hosted PostgreSQL databases — performance tuning, backups, storage, and high availability
Own and improve GCP infrastructure including networking, IAM, storage, and compute resources
Debug production issues across the stack, from container networking to database performance
Build and improve CI/CD pipelines for fast, reliable deployments, with strong security guardrails
Maintain and enhance observability systems (Grafana, Loki, Prometheus), including alerting and visibility
Enable better debugging and performance analysis through improved monitoring and tracing capabilities
Plan and execute infrastructure migrations, upgrades, and disaster recovery processes
Manage vulnerabilities across infrastructure, including VMs and containers
Build internal tools and automation scripts (Python/Bash) to improve developer productivity and reduce manual effort
Collaborate closely with engineering teams to improve deployment, debugging, and overall workflows
The ideal candidate
1.5–3 years of hands-on experience in DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering roles
Strong ownership mindset with a bias for action
Experience working with Kubernetes and debugging containerized environments
Familiarity with GCP services (GKE, VPC, IAM, Cloud Storage, etc.)
Solid understanding of PostgreSQL fundamentals, including performance and backups
Good grasp of networking concepts like DNS, load balancing, VPCs, and firewalls
Experience building or maintaining CI/CD pipelines
Hands-on experience with observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Loki
Comfortable scripting in Python and Bash for automation
Prior exposure to development environments and workflows
Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with developers
Comfortable in fast-paced startup environments
