Platform Engineer
As part of Vitol’s global Cloud & Platform Engineering team, based in Singapore, you will play a key role in operating, improving, and evolving our shared platform, CI/CD, and cloud capabilities across the organisation.
This role combines strategic input, hands-on engineering, platform and tooling development, and operational ownership. You will primarily focus on building and improving shared platform capabilities, while contributing to roadmap direction and ensuring the reliable day-to-day operation of the platforms we support.
You will
- Contribute to the roadmap and continuous improvement of Vitol’s global shared platforms, CI/CD capabilities, and cloud platform services.
- Build and operate platform tooling, automation, CI/CD pipelines, templates, and deployment services across hybrid cloud and on-premises environments.
- Own platform reliability and operational support, including incident response, problem resolution, upgrades, and lifecycle management.
- Partner with Software Development teams to improve developer experience and enable safe, reliable, and efficient application delivery.
- Work with Cyber Security to embed secure practices across cloud, automation, CI/CD, and shared platforms, including access controls, secrets management, vulnerability remediation, and hardening.
- Collaborate with a global team on follow-the-sun support, knowledge sharing, standards, and operational consistency.
- 3+ years of experience building and operating CI/CD platforms supporting .NET and/or Python application environments.
- 3+ years of experience operating and supporting global enterprise-scale bespoke and/or commercial platforms.
- 3+ years of experience with cloud platform engineering, including building and operating reusable cloud infrastructure, automation, and platform services in an AWS-based hybrid environment.
- Experience working across both Windows and Linux environments, including their operating systems, tooling, and ecosystems.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, source control, container, and artefact tooling such as Jenkins, Terraform, GitLab/GitHub, AWS ECS, and optionally Nexus.
- Experience operating one or more shared enterprise platforms such as Kafka, Redis, Atlassian Suite, Elastic, Datadog, ActiveBatch, or Prefect.
- Scripting experience in one or more of Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Interest in applying AI-enabled engineering practices to improve platform operations, developer experience, CI/CD automation, and support workflows.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with development, infrastructure, security, and business stakeholders.
- A track record of owning issues and objectives, independently driving them to high-quality outcomes.
- Proactive and user-focused, with a can-do attitude and interest in both the functional and technical aspects of each challenge.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to meet deadlines and manage changing priorities.

Qualifications and skills that will help you stand out
- Previous experience in the commodities and/or trading industry.
- Tangible contribution to CI/CD strategy in an enterprise setting.
- Software development background in .NET or Python.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Codex or GitHub Copilot to improve engineering productivity, code quality, and automation delivery.
- Experience developing internal developer AI tools, agents, or integrations using protocols such as MCP.
- SecOps experience, including working with platforms such as HashiCorp Vault.
- Previous experience in an AWS Cloud Engineer role.
- Working knowledge of GCP or Azure.
