Platform Portfolio Lead
We have an opportunity for a Platform Portfolio Lead to join our Wealth, Insurance & Product Governance team and play a key role in shaping how BNZ delivers wealth solutions for high-net-worth clients. This role is commercially focused, leading the performance, growth, and ongoing development of our Wealth WRAP platform proposition while working closely with internal teams and external partners to deliver strong outcomes for customers, colleagues, and BNZ.
This is an Auckland based role and is a hybrid role with a minimum of three days in the office per week.

What are 5 day to day tasks the person in this role will complete?
Lead the commercial performance and day-to-day management of BNZ’s Wealth WRAP platform, with a focus on delivering valued solutions for high-net-worth clients.
Work with advisers, product teams, operational teams, and external partners to ensure the platform supports excellent client outcomes, efficient service delivery, and sustainable business growth.
Oversee the delivery of platform services that support BNZ’s wealth proposition, ensuring customer, adviser, and business needs are well understood and effectively prioritised.
Manage initiatives that improve the client and adviser experience on platform, including enhancements to investment administration, reporting, service processes, and product delivery.
Define and communicate a clear Wealth WRAP platform strategy aligned to BNZ’s commercial objectives, high-net-worth client proposition, and long-term growth ambitions.

My management style is direct and delivery focused, with a collaborative, and empowering approach.
I’m clear on objectives, and decision rights, and then give people the trust and space to deliver. I believe high performance comes from clarity, and trust.
I stay close to me team, encourage ownership and accountability day to day, with active support in removing of obstacles. I value open, direct communication, regular prioritisation, and constructive challenge, with a strong focus on creating an environment where people feel supported, trusted, and able to do their best work—while delivering value for customers and BNZ. We spend a lot of time at work, so it’s important we also enjoy the journey and build a culture we’re genuinely proud of.
What is the most exciting thing about this opportunity?
The most exciting aspect of this role is the opportunity to shape and grow BNZ’s Wealth WRAP platform proposition for high-net-worth clients. The role has a strong commercial focus, influencing how we deliver scalable, client-centred wealth solutions through advisers, partners, and platform capability while creating long-term value for BNZ and our customers.
What is the most challenging thing about this opportunity?
The challenge is balancing commercial ambition with disciplined execution across a complex wealth ecosystem, including advisers, product teams, operations, risk, technology partners, and external platform providers.
The role requires strong commercial judgement and confidence working with stakeholders who may have different priorities, incentives, and delivery constraints. Success will come from aligning these groups around clear client outcomes, agreed priorities, and measurable business value.
It also requires keeping the focus on what will genuinely improve the high-net-worth client and adviser experience, while ensuring the platform remains commercially sustainable, well governed, and operationally effective.
What will success look like for the candidate in this role?
The successful candidate will bring strong wealth and platform knowledge, with proven experience managing high-net-worth client portfolios and leading commercially focused platform initiatives. They will understand how WRAP platforms support advisers, clients, and business growth, and will be confident translating client and commercial needs into clear delivery priorities.
The successful candidate will have strong wealth and platform knowledge, with proven capabilities leading operational teams, and medium size implementation and delivery projects. They will also lead a high-performing team and culture that values accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement, while maintaining strong alignment across BNZ and constructive engagement with partners.
Ultimately, success will be evident when the WRAP platform is delivering a strong client and adviser experience, supporting high-net-worth portfolio growth, and creating sustainable long-term value for BNZ and its customers.
What specific skills would be beneficial?
7+ years’ experience in financial services, wealth management, or private banking, with a strong understanding of client portfolio management and commercial performance drivers.
Demonstrated experience managing or supporting high-net-worth client portfolios through a WRAP platform or similar wealth platform environment.
Strong commercial leadership experience, with the ability to identify growth opportunities, manage competing priorities, and lead teams to deliver measurable business outcomes.
Proven experience working with advisers, relationship managers, product teams, and external partners to deliver client-centred wealth solutions.
Strong understanding of WRAP platform functionality, investment administration, client reporting, adviser workflows, and the role platforms play in supporting wealth propositions.
Significant experience in stakeholder engagement, partner management, governance, risk management, and issue resolution in a regulated financial services environment.
Ability to translate business, client, adviser, and operational needs into practical platform priorities without needing to be deeply technical.
