Plumbing & Drainage Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and technically capable Plumbing & Drainage Engineer to join our Building Services team. In this role, you will contribute to the design, delivery, and coordination of plumbing and drainage systems across a diverse portfolio of projects, including commercial, residential, and industrial developments.

Working within a multidisciplinary environment, you will support project teams to deliver high-quality, practical, and compliant engineering solutions aligned with Beca’s standards and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and documentation of plumbing and drainage systems in accordance with local regulations and international standards.

  • Prepare engineering drawings, calculations, specifications, and technical reports under supervision.

  • Conduct site inspections, surveys, and condition assessments to inform design decisions.

  • Support the selection of appropriate materials, systems, and equipment.

  • Coordinate with architects, civil engineers, and other disciplines to ensure seamless integration into overall building designs.

  • Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and value engineering initiatives.

  • Support construction phase services, including installation oversight, testing, and commissioning activities.

  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues during design and construction stages.

  • Contribute to project planning, cost estimation, and program delivery.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and industry best practices.

About You

We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented engineer who is passionate about delivering high-quality outcomes and developing their technical expertise.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in plumbing and drainage design (consultancy experience preferred).

  • Understanding of applicable codes and standards (e.g., SNI, ASPE, or equivalent).

  • Familiarity with hydraulic calculations and drainage system sizing.

  • Proficiency in design tools such as AutoCAD and/or Revit MEP.
