Plumbing & Drainage Engineer
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and technically capable Plumbing & Drainage Engineer to join our Building Services team. In this role, you will contribute to the design, delivery, and coordination of plumbing and drainage systems across a diverse portfolio of projects, including commercial, residential, and industrial developments.
Working within a multidisciplinary environment, you will support project teams to deliver high-quality, practical, and compliant engineering solutions aligned with Beca’s standards and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the design and documentation of plumbing and drainage systems in accordance with local regulations and international standards.
Prepare engineering drawings, calculations, specifications, and technical reports under supervision.
Conduct site inspections, surveys, and condition assessments to inform design decisions.
Support the selection of appropriate materials, systems, and equipment.
Coordinate with architects, civil engineers, and other disciplines to ensure seamless integration into overall building designs.
Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and value engineering initiatives.
Support construction phase services, including installation oversight, testing, and commissioning activities.
Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues during design and construction stages.
Contribute to project planning, cost estimation, and program delivery.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and industry best practices.
About You
We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented engineer who is passionate about delivering high-quality outcomes and developing their technical expertise.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
2–5 years of relevant experience in plumbing and drainage design (consultancy experience preferred).
Understanding of applicable codes and standards (e.g., SNI, ASPE, or equivalent).
Familiarity with hydraulic calculations and drainage system sizing.
Proficiency in design tools such as AutoCAD and/or Revit MEP.
