PMIS Specialist

Works as part of a Project Controls team with a primary focus on the implementation, administration and ongoing management of the PMIS. The role will initially focus on supporting the management of the PMIS implementation partner, overseeing the system rollout and subsequently driving adoption and expansion across the broader portfolio management organization. The target platform is SAP (PS and SAP EPPM).

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the client-side technical reference point during the PMIS implementation, ensuring the solution is configured to meet project controls and reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate with the implementation partner to define data structures, workflows, reporting templates and system integrations aligned with organizational needs.
  • Monitor implementation progress, track milestones, manage issues and risks related to the system rollout and report status.
  • Coordinate the phased expansion of the PMIS to the wider portfolio management organization, developing a rollout plan, managing change, and ensuring consistent adoption.
  • Manage large and complex datasets, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and consistency across all reporting cycles.
  • Develop and document PMIS standards, procedures and data governance practices.
  • Provide training and ongoing technical support to team members and end users across the portfolio.
  • Expert in program management information systems (PMIS), data reporting and database management.
  • Experience supporting or managing the implementation of enterprise project management tools (SAP or otherwise) in a client-side role is highly valued.
  • Must have experience in managing, maintaining and reporting large data sets as part of regular project reporting cycles and adhoc requests.
  • Advanced skills in Power BI, including data modeling and dashboard design with SAP data sources.
  • Strong SQL skills for database querying, data management, and reporting automation.
  • Solid understanding of project controls principles including cost, schedule, earned value management (EVM), and risk.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP Project Systems (PS) and/or SAP EPPM is strongly preferred; candidates with a solid SAP background and willingness to specialize in PS/EPPM will also be considered.
  • 9-15 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Having worked in a PMO or PMC environment is highly desirable. Team player, self-motivated, good communicator in spoken word and presentations in English and preferably also in Arabic.
