PMO & Operations Officer

Who are we?

Ampowr designs, builds, and operates battery energy storage systems (BESS) and the energy management software (EMS) that runs them. We work across the full lifecycle of a project: system design, project management, installation, grid services, and ongoing maintenance, for customers and projects in renewable energy, utilities, and industry.

We are opening our Southeast Asia office, based in Jakarta, to develop and manage BESS and solar PV projects across the region. We have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Indonesia's Ministry of Villages, Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration (Kementerian Desa) to explore renewable energy and rural electrification opportunities, and we are building out our pipeline of projects and partners across the country.

Whom are we looking for?

This role is one of the first hires into our new Southeast Asia office. You will join the COO’s office and own the project management backbone behind our active tenders and project pipeline: data rooms, document and compliance trackers, IUPTL (electricity business license) registration, and other vendor and licensing processes, alongside research into Indonesia’s vendor and EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction — the contractor model used to build power plants under a single fixed-price contract) landscape and direct outreach to potential partners.

We are working multiple tenders and project opportunities in parallel as we build out our pipeline in Indonesia. Your job is to keep each one organized and moving: chasing documents to closure, keeping trackers accurate, and making sure nothing falls through the cracks between workstreams. As our pipeline in the region grows, the standards and partner relationships you help establish now will carry across future projects.

What it takes you to be successful in this role:

  • Research Indonesia’s vendor and EPC landscape for solar PV and BESS projects: map active contractors, suppliers, and service providers, and assess track record, scale, and fit for Ampowr’s pipeline.
  • Set up and help run meetings with potential EPC partners, vendors, and other project counterparties, including preparation of briefing notes and follow-up.
  • Support the relationship and workstreams arising from our MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) with Indonesia's Ministry of Villages, Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration (Kementerian Desa), including coordination, follow-up, and documentation.
  • Manage IUPTL (electricity business license) registration and other licensing workstreams across our active tenders, working alongside our appointed law firm and BDO Indonesia.
  • Manage registration and ongoing compliance of Ampowr and its project entities in PLN’s Vendor Management System (VMS) and DPT (Daftar Penyedia Terseleksi — PLN’s pre-qualified vendor list), including document submission and classification updates.
  • Maintain and update project and investor data rooms across multiple tenders: keep documents current, organized, and version-controlled, and follow up with internal and external stakeholders to close outstanding items.
  • Track other compliance workstreams — including AMDAL/UKL-UPL (environmental permitting) and KBLI (business classification code) updates — as needed.
  • Keep project trackers up to date across our pipeline, following up with workstream owners on status and deadlines.
  • Prepare first drafts of partner briefings, owner updates, and internal status decks from existing templates and data.
  • Contribute to building the operating processes and document standards the Southeast Asia office will use as its project pipeline grows.

Requirements:

  • 2–5 years’ experience in strategy consulting, transaction advisory, or a Big 4 strategy or deals practice.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or another technical field. A postgraduate degree is a plus, not a requirement.
  • Strong organizational skills and comfort managing a high volume of documentation and process without losing accuracy.
  • Fluent written and spoken English and Bahasa Indonesia.
  • Comfortable working with limited structure and following up independently across multiple parallel workstreams.
  • Prior exposure to energy, infrastructure, or project finance is a plus but not required.
