Policy Analyst

This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Office of Strategy, Policy, and Plans (PLCY), International Affairs (OIA). The primary purpose of this position is to analyze and evaluate operations, requirements, policies, and/or regulations in order to develop recommendations to achieve policy goals. Non-BU: This is a non-bargaining unit position.

As a Policy Analyst, GS-0301-13, your typical work assignments may include the following: Conducts analyses of various source materials including historical reports, responses to questionnaires, open-source material, classified reporting, laws, policies, or agreements to develop reports and policies. Develops recommendations to achieve compliance with regulations and policies or advancing strategic policy objectives. Actively participates in and leads working groups or meetings to improve coordination and support development of policies and programs to advance strategic objectives. Maintains strong lines of communication with Department Components and Interagency partners to ensure that international affairs engagement aligns with DHS priorities and U.S. foreign policy.
