Make a real impact on the health and wellbeing of New Zealanders. As a Policy Analyst, you’ll help shape evidence-informed policy that drives better outcomes across the health system. Working at the heart of government, you’ll collaborate with a wide range of teams and stakeholders to design, deliver, and evaluate initiatives that matter—while championing equity and upholding Te Tiriti o Waitangi obligations. What you’ll do
Develop and refine policy – Draft and improve policy advice, legislation, and guidance to ensure clarity, quality, and alignment with organisational priorities
Collaborate for impact – Work across teams and with stakeholders to support delivery of key initiatives and build strong, effective relationships
Support planning and delivery – Contribute to project planning, coordination, and tracking to ensure work is delivered on time and to a high standard
Strengthen quality and insights – Review work, provide feedback, and support monitoring and evaluation to drive continuous improvement
Enable better outcomes – Provide practical policy input, identify efficiencies, and ensure all work reflects equity priorities and Te Tiriti obligations
Ko ngā pūkenga ōu - What you’ll bring
Relevant expertise -Tertiary qualification in health (or related field) and/or equivalent practical experience, with a strong understanding of social policy
Planning and delivery capability - Experience designing work programmes and managing projects to deliver on time, within budget, and to a high standard
Analytical and judgement skills -Proven ability to apply critical thinking, use sound judgement, and develop well-reasoned policy advice and options
Communication and relationship strength - Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders and tailor complex information effectively
