Join a team shaping the future of health in Aotearoa New Zealand. As a Policy Analyst, you’ll play a key role in developing evidence-informed policy that drives better outcomes for communities across the motu. Working in a highly collaborative environment, you’ll contribute to meaningful, real-world impact - supporting the design, delivery, and evaluation of initiatives that matter.

This is an opportunity to grow your policy capability, influence decision-making, and support work that prioritises equity and upholds Te Tiriti o Waitangi obligations.

  • Develop and refine policy advice – contribute to drafting, reviewing, and improving policy documents, legislation, and guidance to ensure clarity, quality, and alignment with organisational goals

  • Support effective delivery of initiatives – track progress, coordinate project activities, and contribute to evaluations to strengthen outcomes and continuous improvement

  • Collaborate across teams and stakeholders – build strong working relationships internally and externally to support joined-up, high-impact policy development

  • Apply critical thinking and analysis – provide sound advice, identify opportunities for improvement, and help shape practical, evidence-based solutions

  • Embed equity and good practice – ensure all work reflects commitments to equity, strong processes, and Te Tiriti o Waitangi obligations

Ko ngā pūkenga ōu - What you’ll bring

  • Relevant qualifications and policy knowledge – tertiary qualification with experience (or strong understanding) of developing policy advice within the social policy sector

  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills – ability to apply critical thinking and sound judgement to develop options and provide advice

  • Excellent organisation and initiative – able to prioritise, meet deadlines, maintain accuracy, and handle sensitive information with confidentiality

  • Effective communication and relationship management – strong written and verbal skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences and build positive stakeholder relationships
