Pool Maintenance Technician

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Pool Technician maintains the cleanliness, safety, and operation of all pools and spas by performing water testing, routine maintenance, and equipment repairs. This role monitors pool conditions, troubleshoots issues, and ensures all aquatic facilities meet health and safety standards to provide an exceptional guest experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform daily water testing and adjust chemical levels to maintain proper balance.
  • Clean pools and spas, including skimming, vacuuming, brushing, and filter maintenance.
  • Inspect and maintain pool equipment such as pumps, heaters, filters, and chemical feeders.
  • Troubleshoot and repair minor mechanical or plumbing issues.
  • Monitor overall pool conditions and report hazards or needed repairs promptly.
  • Ensure all pools and spas meet safety, sanitation, and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and chemical readings.
  • Assist with opening, closing, or seasonal maintenance of aquatic areas.
  • ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Degree Preferred: High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Minimum Years of experience: 2-3 years of experience in pool and spa maintenance.
  • Required Certificate(s) or License(s): Possess a valid Missouri “E” or Arkansas “D” driver’s license with “P” endorsement.
  • Preferred Certification(s): CPO (Certified Pool Operator)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

  • Understanding of basic pool/spa maintenance and water chemistry
  • Ability to operate and maintain pool equipment (pumps, filters, heaters)
  • Skilled in troubleshooting and performing minor mechanical repairs
  • Ability to follow safety and sanitation standards
  • Strong attention to detail and record‑keeping ability
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and communicate effectively

Occasionally sits and does computer work.

Occasional independent judgment is required to complete work assignments. Often makes recommendations to work procedures, policies, and practices.
