Portfolio Risk Manager

We’re launching a new business line in Mexico and looking for a strong leader to own credit risk end-to-end. You’ll set the risk vision, design frameworks, build and lead the team, and ensure sustainable portfolio growth while keeping losses under control.

Day-to-day responsibilities:

  • Build from scratch: design credit origination policy, limit setting, pricing guardrails, early-warning triggers, and collections feedback loops

  • Own risk metrics: manage risk appetite and ensure portfolio performance stays within it; maintain live dashboards and explain drivers of metric changes

  • Portfolio analytics: perform segmentation, stress-testing, cohort analysis, and vintage tracking

  • Team leadership: recruit, mentor, and develop analysts; foster a data-driven and experimentation-focused culture

  • Cross-functional collaboration: embed risk controls in product specifications, customer journeys, and work closely with finance and 2nd line of defence teams

The ideal candidate:

  • 3+ years in credit risk management focused on retail or consumer lending portfolios (banking or fintech)

  • Strong understanding of scorecard design, ML techniques, and alternative data for credit decisioning

  • Proficient in SQL and Python/R with hands-on experience working with data

  • Proven leadership experience — managed teams, set OKRs, and developed analysts

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or Mathematics; MBA or CFA is a plus

  • Strong technical or quantitative background with a strategic mindset

  • B1 or higher English level for effective communication with an international team

Our ways of working:

  • Innovative Spirit: a commitment to creativity and groundbreaking solutions

  • Honest Feedback: valuing open, transparent communication

  • Supportive Team: a strong, collaborative community

  • Celebrating Achievements: recognizing our wins together

  • High-Tech Environment: a team full of smart and revolutionary people who date to challenge the status quo of incumbent finances

Our benefits:

  • Relocation support to Mexico with assistance for the employee and their family

  • Flexible work: hybrid or full-time from our office in Mexico

  • Healthcare Coverage

  • Education Budget: Language lessons, professional training and certifications

  • Wellness Budget: Mental health and fitness activity reimbursements

  • Vacation policy: 20 days of annual leave and paid sick leave
