Power Electronics Engineer

What is to be done?<\/span><\/b>
<\/p>

\- <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Design,\nbuild and bring into production high performance power electronics hardware for\nuse in automotive applications, specifically for a range of superbikes.<\/span>
<\/p>

\- <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Collaborate\nwith firmware, mechanical engineering, PCB design, sourcing, quality, compliance,\nand manufacturing teams.<\/span>
<\/p>

\- <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Responsible\nand own a part or complete hardware design from conceptualization to testing\nand production.<\/span>
<\/p>

\- <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Prepare\nand keep up to date the documentation related to design and development, as\nwell as effectively communicate technical and non\-technical information to\nrelevant stakeholders.<\/span>
<\/p>

\- <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Build\nintellectual property and reduce these into practice.<\/span>

What is required?<\/span><\/b>
<\/p>

\- <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Commitment\nand passion towards all things engineering, in general, and power electronics,\nin specific. Drive towards creating new ideas and bringing them to practice.<\/span>
<\/p>

\- <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Strong\nwork ethic, bias towards action, and readiness to be outside own\u2019s comfort\nzone.<\/span>
<\/p>

\- <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Strong\nbackground in and keen understanding of power electronics topologies in AC/DC\nand DC/DC power conversion systems.<\/span>
<\/p>

Experience in one or more of the following:<\/span>
<\/div>
1. Experience\nwith designing and putting into practice the multi\-kilowatt power electronics\nhardware and control firmware.<\/span>
<\/div>
2. Experience\nwith voltage power semiconductor devices of voltage class ranging from 20 V up\nto 1200 V.<\/span>
<\/div>
3. Keen\nunderstanding of switching characteristics and loss mechanisms in different power\nsemiconductor device technologies such as silicon, SiC and GaN based\nsemiconductors. Experience with designing gate\-driver and device protection\ncircuits.<\/span>
<\/div>
4. Experience\nwith designing magnetic components such as inductors and transformers with\nknowledge about commonly used magnetic materials and their properties.<\/span>
<\/div>
5. Experience\nwith designing sensing circuits, analog and digital electronic circuits.
6. <\/span>Hands\-on\nexperience with software tools for circuit simulation (LTSPICE, PLECS, PSIM,\nSimulink), scripting languages (MATLAB, Python, Octave), PCB Design tools\n(Altium, Cadence, Mentor Graphics, Eagle). Experience with FEM tools (ANSYS,\nCOMSOL) will also be handy.<\/span><\/div>

<\/div>

\- <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Highly\nskilled at problem solving and debugging electronic circuits.<\/span>
<\/p>

\- <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Experience\nwith designing systems for testing, validation, and manufacturing.<\/span>
<\/p>

\- <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Fair\nunderstanding and hands\-on experience with embedded systems and\nmicrocontrollers will be handy.<\/span>
<\/p>

\- <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Knowledge\nabout automotive relevant standards applicable in different geographies is\npreferred.<\/span>
<\/p>

\- <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>B.E./B.Tech/B.Sc\nor M.E./M.Tech/M.Sc in Electrical Engineering + 3\-8 years or more of relevant\nhands\-on hardware experience in power converter design.<\/span>
