Presales Engineer

Role Overview

The Presales Consultant acts as a trusted advisor to prospective customers by understanding business challenges, designing solution approaches, conducting product demonstrations, responding to RFPs/RFIs, and supporting the sales team throughout the sales cycle. The role bridges business requirements and technical capabilities to help customers achieve their digital transformation objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Business Discovery & Consulting

  • Engage customers to understand business objectives, pain points, and transformation initiatives.
  • Conduct workshops, requirement-gathering sessions, and solution discovery meetings.
  • Analyze existing business processes and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Map customer requirements to product capabilities and solution offerings.

Solution Design

  • Develop solution architectures and business use cases.
  • Create solution proposals, presentations, and value propositions.
  • Design end-to-end workflows and digital transformation roadmaps.
  • Recommend best practices and implementation approaches.

Product Demonstrations

  • Prepare and deliver customized product demonstrations.
  • Build proof-of-concepts (POCs) and prototypes.
  • Showcase business outcomes and ROI to stakeholders.
  • Address technical and functional queries during evaluations.

Sales Support

  • Partner with Account Managers and Sales teams on strategic opportunities.
  • Participate in customer meetings and executive presentations.
  • Support opportunity qualification and deal strategy.
  • Assist in commercial discussions by explaining solution value.

RFP/RFI Management

  • Lead responses to RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs.
  • Coordinate inputs from product, technical, and delivery teams.
  • Ensure proposal quality, compliance, and timely submission.

Market & Industry Expertise

  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitors, and emerging technologies.
  • Develop industry-specific solution offerings.
  • Contribute to thought leadership and customer events.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related discipline.
  • MBA or equivalent

Experience

  • 3 - 5 years of experience in Presales, Business Consulting, Solution Consulting, or Digital Transformation.
  • Experience in Banking, Financial Services, Insurance, Government, or Enterprise Software solutions.
  • Proven experience supporting complex enterprise sales cycles.
