Principal Data Center Electrical Engineer

This is a high-impact engineering leadership role focused on shaping the next generation of global data center electrical architecture at hyperscale. You will act as a technical authority, defining scalable, future-proof electrical design standards that balance performance, cost, reliability, and build complexity. The role blends deep engineering expertise with strategic influence, as you evaluate emerging technologies and translate innovation into practical, globally deployable solutions. You will collaborate with internal design teams and external EPC partners to ensure consistent execution across international projects. Operating in a fast-paced, global environment, you will help define best practices that guide large-scale data center development worldwide. This is a unique opportunity to directly influence how critical digital infrastructure is designed and delivered at scale.
Accountabilities:
- Define and standardize electrical architecture for hyperscale data centers, ensuring scalability, resilience, efficiency, and global consistency
- Research and evaluate emerging electrical technologies and industry innovations, translating insights into actionable engineering standards
- Develop, maintain, and evolve design guidelines, templates, and engineering playbooks used across global delivery teams
- Collaborate closely with internal engineering teams and external EPC partners to ensure alignment and high-quality implementation
- Act as a technical authority, balancing multiple solution approaches while ensuring compliance with overarching design standards
- Drive stakeholder alignment by communicating complex engineering concepts clearly and building consensus across global teams
- Support the delivery of large-scale international data center projects, ensuring consistency in electrical design execution
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and industry best practices in data center electrical engineering
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification
- Minimum 10 years of experience in large-scale (20MW+) data center electrical design
- At least 5 years of experience working on international data center or infrastructure projects
- Deep expertise in electrical systems design, power distribution, redundancy strategies, and mission-critical infrastructure
- Strong understanding of emerging data center technologies and global engineering standards
- Proven experience collaborating with EPC firms and managing complex, large-scale engineering delivery
- Demonstrated ability to define or contribute to engineering standards, playbooks, or design frameworks
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to align diverse technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to evaluate multiple technical solutions and articulate trade-offs clearly and effectively
- Leadership mindset with strong influence and consensus-building capabilities in global environments
