Role description\:
As part of the River Class Destroyer Programme’s Engineering Delivery function, you’ll play a key role within the BoM Delivery Team, managing the Product Breakdown Structure (PBS) through the Windchill PLM toolset. You’ll be responsible for maintaining a vital element of the Integrated Bill of Material (iBoM), supporting the delivery of critical engineering data to Irving Shipbuilding in Canada.
You’ll ensure engineering changes to the PBS are processed accurately and on schedule, enabling the programme to meet key milestones and supporting uninterrupted ship production. This is a high-profile role with real programme impact, offering excellent opportunities for professional development, career progression, and the chance to achieve engineering accreditation while expanding your technical expertise.
Core duties\:
- Processing authorised Product Change via Integrated Bill of Materials (iBoM) from template to create and maintain the programmes product breakdown structure (PBS)
- Producing and maintaining Bill of Material & Data Management process and policy documents for the programme
- Deputising for the BoM manager, day to day team supervision, prioritising work scope and assigning to BOM Management team
- Providing guidance, training and support to applicable programme team members working with the team and wider project guidance to ensure effective BOM Management
Essential skills\:
- Qualified to degree level in a STEM related discipline. Applicants should be a Chartered Engineer or hold another equivalent professional registration with a relevant institution
- Experience in PLM, Engineering Change and Bill of Material data processes
- Ability to work closely with other domains to integrate the necessary controls to manage the product information
- Ability to provide guidance, training and support to more junior team members and deputise in managers absence
