Principal Product Designer
You will shape end-to-end product experiences, leading design from concept through production. You will partner closely with product and engineering to define user flows, service architecture, data requirements, and technical constraints. You will anticipate edge cases, define error states, and produce detailed designs for implementation. You will evolve and scale the design system, raise visual and interaction quality, mentor other designers, and represent design decisions clearly to stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Lead product design across multiple high-impact initiatives from zero-to-one through production
- Partner with Product and Engineering to shape product strategy, user flows, service architecture, data requirements, and technical constraints
- Anticipate edge cases, states, error flows, and data integrity in designs
- Translate complex business and user needs into simple cohesive experiences that drive measurable outcomes
- Evolve and scale the design system to ensure consistency and innovation across products
- Raise the quality bar for visual craft, interaction patterns, systems thinking, and UX rigor
- Mentor and provide design critique to senior and mid-level designers
- Collaborate cross-functionally to influence product decisions and align teams
- Represent design at the executive level and communicate design rationale and customer insights
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in product design (UI/UX or product/interaction design)
- Proven experience driving complex design projects from strategy through execution
- History of designing products that shipped, scaled, and impacted the business
- Strong systems thinking around design components, technical constraints, and flow structure for engineering efficiency
- Expert proficiency in modern design tools such as Figma and Adobe Suite
- Portfolio demonstrating high craft, product thinking, problem framing, technical tradeoffs, detailed states, and execution
- Strong understanding of usability, accessibility, and design best practices for responsive web and mobile
- Exceptional storytelling, communication, and facilitation skills
- Experience mentoring other designers and helping teams scale design impact
- Mindset balancing design intuition with data-driven decision making
- Nice to have: experience in fintech, crypto, capital markets, AI, or high-regulation domains
- Nice to have: knowledge of front-end technologies or close collaboration experience with development teams
- Nice to have: experience defining or leading design vision, principles, or systems at an organizational level
