The Private Wealth Director leads and cultivates client relationships across the Wealth Advisory and Private Client Advisory segments. This role serves as a trusted, strategic advisor and coordinator across all aspects of Wealth Management, helping clients navigate complex financial needs. The Private Wealth Director drives organic growth through client retention, relationship expansion, and the sourcing of new client relationships. As a Private Wealth Director in Texas, you will be based in our Houston, Austin, Dallas or Fort Worth office.
What You’ll Do
- Cultivate and manage deep, long-term relationships with clients, serving as the central point of contact and trusted advisor for complex financial needs.
- Develop referrals and new business leads from internal and external sources, including centers of influence working with clients.
- Build a strong understanding of each client’s unique family dynamics, financial goals, and philanthropic aspirations.
- Partner with a team of experts to develop and implement customized Wealth Management strategies.
- Orchestrate specialists to deliver holistic financial services, including wealth structuring, credit facilities, banking, asset management, budgeting, insurance, charitable giving, wealth transfer, and tax services.
- Develop tailored meeting agendas, presentations, and relationship timelines that provide proactive, targeted advice aligned to short-, medium-, and long-term client goals.
- Review client accounts to assess banking, investment, and advisory needs; anticipate and create opportunities to enhance client relationships.
- Contribute to organic growth by expanding existing client relationships and sourcing new ones.
- Actively participate in the development of new and integrated solutions to meet evolving client needs.
- Engage subject-matter experts, when appropriate, and close sales opportunities.
- Ensure smooth delivery of new services and communicate emerging client needs.
- Incorporate digital solutions and capabilities to enhance the overall client experience.
What Will Make You Successful in the Role
Knowledge
- Broad understanding of Wealth Management principles, including investment management, tax planning, estate planning, and family governance
- Proven ability to work across multiple disciplines and synthesize complex financial information
- Outstanding communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for a variety of audiences
- Strong relationship management capabilities and high emotional intelligence
- Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, written, and presentation skills with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field (Business Administration, Finance, Economics)
- 10–15 years of industry experience, including significant experience in relationship management and portfolio management
- MBA or post-graduate degree preferred
- Professional certifications preferred (CFP, CPA, CFA, CTFA, CFM)
- Series 7 and 63 licenses required
