Prize Designer

This role sits at the intersection of product strategy, systems thinking, and global problem-solving, focused on designing large-scale incentive competitions that drive real-world impact.
You will help define and structure high-stakes innovation challenges aimed at solving some of humanity’s most complex issues.
The position blends research, analytical rigor, and design thinking to shape competition frameworks from concept to final blueprint.
You will work across multidisciplinary teams, including domain experts, finance, operations, and external stakeholders.

You will play a key role in ensuring that each prize design is both visionary in ambition and operationally feasible.

Accountabilities
In this role, you will lead the full lifecycle design of large-scale prize competitions, ensuring each initiative is grounded in rigorous research, strategic clarity, and execution feasibility. You will translate complex global challenges into structured competition frameworks that attract innovation and measurable outcomes.
- Lead end-to-end design of prize competitions, from problem framing and research to final design documentation and delivery.
- Develop competition structures including rules, phases, evaluation criteria, budgets, and success metrics.
- Conduct deep research and stakeholder engagement, including workshops and expert interviews to inform design decisions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (finance, operations, marketing, and domain experts) to ensure alignment and feasibility.
- Build project plans, timelines, and budgets while managing multiple concurrent design initiatives.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of internal design methodologies and thought leadership efforts.
- 5–7+ years of experience in product management, consulting, project management, product design, or related fields.
- Bachelor’s degree required (STEM background preferred; Master’s degree a plus).
- Strong experience in research, analytical thinking, and structured problem-solving.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects under compressed timelines.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with design thinking methodologies and translating abstract problems into actionable frameworks.
- Proficiency with research tools (e.g., Google Scholar, PubMed, Zotero, or similar platforms).
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Competitive base salary estimated between $120,000–$140,000, with potential annual incentives
