Job Description\:
As a Process Assurance Engineer, you will be responsible with others for ensuring that Munitions’ manufacturing processes, facilities and equipment for both future and legacy products comply with appropriate statutory, corporate and contractual safety requirements. There will be opportunity to work across all different areas of the site to learn and understand all site processes, both manufacturing and non-manufacturing activities.
You will be required to support and provide advice where possible to projects and site staff to ensure the generation of process safety deliverables, then assuring their credibility.The role provides the assurance support to the activities of the Engineering Delegated Authority, Manufacturing (EDAMs) and the Process SMEs (the ‘delegated authorities’) and therefore requires appropriate cooperation, skills and behaviours.
Core duties\:
- You will participate in establishing a complete and credible Basis of Safety (BoS) for each of the manufacturing processes to ensure on time startup
- You will support and advise the delegated authorities in the business, in matters relating to process safety for projects and capital acquisitions
- You will enable Learning and Sharing. Build, maintain and foster a good process safety culture across the Munitions business amongst the wider stakeholder community. This may include supporting with training and engagement with others
- You will scrutinise documentation in support of applications for process-related Trials Readiness Certificates. Act as assurance approval signatory
Essential Skills\:
- You will hold a bachelor’s degree or other higher-level qualification within a relevant engineering discipline. Experience will also be a consideration
- You will be aware of relevant engineering standards, including safety and environmental regulations
- You will have awareness of Life Cycle Management
- You will bring awareness of working within a in High Hazard Industry
The Process Assurance Team\:
The Process Assurance engineering team is expanding due to the additional developments within the business. The team is in place to provide independent authorisations and reviews for all processes within the business.
