About the Role
Our client is a reputable manufacturing company seeking a Process Engineer to support manufacturing operations, process optimisation, and continuous improvement initiatives within a plastic injection moulding environment.
This role is ideal for candidates with experience in process engineering, moulding operations, tooling, and manufacturing process improvement who enjoy solving technical challenges and driving operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement productivity and process improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing efficiency
- Conduct process capability studies and analyse manufacturing performance data
- Develop, review, and maintain process instructions, SOPs, and technical documentation
- Troubleshoot process, machine, tooling, and production-related issues
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
- Evaluate new or modified moulds and establish optimum machine settings and process parameters
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and engineering change activities
- Coordinate closely with Production, Tooling, Quality, and Engineering teams
- Drive continuous improvement projects relating to quality, productivity, yield improvement, and waste reduction
- Support preventive maintenance planning for moulds and tooling equipment
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Polymer Engineering, Plastic Technology, or related disciplines
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a plastic injection moulding manufacturing environment
- Experience in medical device, automotive, electronics, precision engineering, or related industries will be advantageous
- Knowledge of plastic injection moulding processes, tooling, mould maintenance, and process optimisation
- Familiarity with SPC, DOE, process capability studies, scientific moulding, and continuous improvement methodologies
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Able to work independently and collaboratively in a manufacturing environment
