Global Credit Risk plays a critical role via its credit risk policies, credit risk appetite setting and credit risk portfolio management in protecting the bank from losses due to defaults or economic downturns.

Your work will directly contribute to ING’s ability to manage credit risk effectively across jurisdictions and business segments.
Specific Tasks and Responsibilities
As a Junior Credit Risk Processes and Control Specialist, you will:
Support the design and translation of credit risk policy obligations into a second-line control inventory, enabling both ex-ante and ex-post testing of credit risk processes.
Assist in developing Policy Adherence Testing Procedures and Policy Effectiveness Monitoring Standards to ensure robust testing and feedback loops.
Help build and maintain the global control inventory and contribute to dashboarding efforts that monitor control adherence.
Act as a junior point of contact for non-SOx 2LoD controls, supporting coordination with local risk units under guidance.
Contribute to process improvement initiatives through standardisation, automation, and robotisation, identifying opportunities and presenting findings under supervision.
Participate in regulatory and audit engagements (e.g. ECB, CAS, KPMG), supporting timely responses and remediation planning.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align on control execution and process enhancements, learning to navigate complex stakeholder environments.
Specific Knowledge and Experience
We hire smart people like you for your potential. Our biggest expectation is that you’ll stay curious, keep learning, and take on responsibility. In return, we’ll back you to grow into an even more awesome version of yourself.
To thrive in this role, you bring:
A Master’s degree in a relevant field.
3–6 years of experience in credit risk or related domains.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present findings clearly and persuasively.
Proficiency in data analysis and a structured approach to problem-solving.
