Procurement Engineer (Expeditor)
Job Description
1. Procurement Operations
- Develop and implement procurement and materials strategies that are cost-effective, compliant, and aligned with internal policies and project objectives.
- Manage the full procurement cycle from requisition to purchase order (PO) issuance, ensuring all materials and services meet EPC contract and project specifications.
- Monitor procurement performance, identify cost-saving opportunities, and recommend process improvements.
- Ensure proper documentation and reporting of all procurement activities in line with audit and compliance requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality of all technical, contractual, and commercial documentation.
2. ERP and Systems Management
- Serve as the key user of the company’s ERP and other procurement-related platforms.
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry to support effective tracking, reporting, and performance monitoring.
- Leverage ERP capabilities to enhance procurement efficiency and maintain data integrity.
3. Contract & Supplier Management
- Administer and maintain procurement contracts, ensuring documentation accuracy, visibility, and accessibility.
- Lead supplier qualification and evaluation processes, ensuring compliance with ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) standards.
- Prepare and present Commercial Bid Evaluations for stakeholder review and approval.
- Support supplier relationship management activities, including supplier performance monitoring, clarifications, and issue resolution.
- Participate in supplier negotiations to ensure alignment with commercial and technical requirements.
4. Order Management & Expediting
- Track and expedite material deliveries in accordance with PO terms, project timelines, and delivery milestones.
- Organize post-award kick-off meetings with SCM, Engineering, Quality, and Documentation teams.
- Monitor supplier performance and proactively address potential slippages to avoid schedule delays.
- Maintain and distribute expediting reports to project, QA/QC, and site teams per project procedures.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders and shipping coordinators to track shipments and ensure timely receipt of materials.
5. Schedule Monitoring & Issue Resolution
- Coordinate project procurement schedules to ensure milestone adherence and timely delivery.
- Identify and resolve potential bottlenecks in the supply chain or manufacturing process.
- Address over, short, and damage (OS&D) issues with suppliers, logistics providers, and site personnel to ensure prompt resolution.
6. Performance Measurement & Reporting
- Track procurement and expediting KPIs, including P2P cycle times, supplier delivery performance, cost savings, and procurement efficiency.
- Prepare regular progress and performance reports highlighting critical procurement issues impacting project schedules.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to review findings and implement improvements.
7. Strategic & Continuous Improvement Initiatives
- Support strategic initiatives to improve procurement practices, optimize the supply chain, and leverage technology for data-driven decision-making.
- Contribute to lessons learned, supplier development, and process improvement initiatives.
- Stay informed on market trends, new suppliers, and emerging technologies to enhance sourcing strategies.
8. Team Collaboration & QHSE Compliance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Project Management, Engineering, Quality, Logistics) to align procurement and delivery objectives.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, transparency, and continuous improvement within the supply chain function.
- Demonstrate exemplary behavior in adherence to QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment) requirements and ensure implementation of QHSE standards in all procurement and expediting activities.
Requirement
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
- 5–8 years of combined experience in procurement, expediting, or supply chain roles within EPC or manufacturing environments.
- Strong understanding of procurement processes, supplier management, and contract administration.
- Proficient in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or equivalent) and MS Office Suite.
- Familiarity with international trade terms (Incoterms), logistics coordination, and customs processes.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
