JOB PURPOSE:
As Procurement Specialist - soft commodities, you will be responsible for building and implementing the category strategy for the EU & Global Dairy. You will represent the portfolio to both internal and external stakeholders and be the main point of contact for operational and strategic topics.

Strategic Sourcing & Value Creation
• Lead and contribute to the development and execution of the EU & Global dairy procurement strategy, aligned with short- and long-term business objectives.
• Lead and contribute to portfolio initiatives (e.g., Alternate Supplier/Material Approvals, resilience, market development, complexity reduction) to unlock gross margin and operational efficiency.
• Lead & support contract negotiations, including RFQ processes, e-tenders, data management and in-depth analysis of supplier submissions
• Build and manage a forward-looking savings and cash pipeline through market intelligence, strategic levers and price risk management principles ensuring cross-functional alignment and execution.

Commodity Price Risk Management
• Partner with Commodity Risk Management to define and deploy optimal hedging strategies
• Collaborate with Finance and Strategy & Insight teams to deliver accurate price forecasts, market analysis, and budgeting inputs.
• Integrate local market intelligence into contracting cover strategies and supplier flows.
• Ensure full hedge compliance across categories and supplier contracts

Supplier Compliance & Contract Management
• Cultivate strategic supplier partnerships, evaluating capabilities for long-term alignment and innovation.
• Shape and manage the supplier base to meet evolving business needs and resilience goals.
• Ensure compliance with Supplier Quality and Responsible Sourcing policies, while maintaining contracting, quality, and service standards.
• Identify and mitigate sourcing risks with cross functional team, ensuring high service levels to sourcing units
• Excellent contract life cycle management and reporting, ensuring 100% coverage of contracts on time in full, including management of purchase price variances

Innovation & Sustainable Sourcing
• Enable innovation through close collaboration with R&D, leveraging supplier intelligence, capacity insights, and market trends.
• Champion sustainable sourcing initiatives in partnership with the Ice Cream Business and key suppliers.
• Support the development and execution of partnerships and projects required to meet Unilever’s sustainability targets.
• Lead all reporting and monitoring requirements for dairy sustainability programs and initiatives.

You will be expected to:
• Outstanding in idea generation, ideas that are forward thinking, and that contribute to creating sustained competitive advantage.
• Strong at selling ideas to his/her business partners, internally and externally, translating these into effective proposals conveying value and communicating it accordingly.
• Appreciative of the value and impact of outstanding execution – an eagle eye for detail.
• Act as an entrepreneur, treats business as his/her own, sets trends and is willing to lead, follow or get out of the way.
• Behave as a Partner with Purpose ambassador and demonstrate the value Procurement adds to the business.
• Talent mastery, which includes: spotting, fostering, encouraging and retaining talent is a non-negotiable.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:
• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree
• >3 years’ experience in Procurement
• Fluency in English
• Self-starter with strong accountability & responsibility and leadership skills
• Experience in strategic sourcing development and contract negotiations
• Very Strong Communication and Analytical skills: data/information analysis and presentation.
• Ability to read markets, gain insights and convey findings along with recommendations, to the business
• Comfort with systems: SAP CLM, USQS, SRS, Velocity, BPC Hana, etc.
• Experience in market forecasting, operations and supply chain dynamics
• Able to build relationships with people across the business (internally & externally).
