Product Environmental Compliance Engineer

This position is offered in Apple's Environmental Technologies group within Apple's Hardware Engineering division. Our mission is to deliver world-leading programs to address the impacts of climate change, conserve resources, and utilize safer materials in our products. The ideal candidate will establish strong relationships with partners from engineering, design, marketing and operations teams to establish ambitious environmental objectives beyond compliance for the product. Minimum Qualifications Bachelors or Masters in engineering or science, or related field 1-3 years of experience driving regulatory compliance projects and/or validation efforts to ensure product compliance Project management experience – managing, organizing and driving deliverables of complex projects with tight timelines Strong technical communication and documentation skills — written and verbal with diverse audiences Knowledge of consumer electronic product-related environmental regulations and standards Thrives in fast-paced environments where attention to detail is required Self-starter with high integrity, sharp attention to detail, passion for environmental compliance and to enhance Apple's environmental mission Preferred Qualifications Comfortable participating in design reviews to advise on applicable product compliance requirements Ability to lead regulatory compliance projects with agencies and test labs, including preparing and filing compliance documentation Experience engaging directly with R&D teams, operations, marketing on complex projects Comfortable in environments that depend on influence to drive outcomes Prior experience in test plan development and execution with a hands-on approach to troubleshooting and working cross-functionally to mitigate potential compliance risks Ability to work with multiple external lab partners to setup, execute, and monitor testing Strong foundation in Environmental regulations and standards e.g. EU RoHS, REACH, Energy-related Product framework directive, Eco Design, Energy Star, Dept. of Energy energy efficiency requirements
