An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Product Make Operator to join our HP Turbine Blade Machining Facility in Derby.

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering production blades in line with committed requirements and prescribed manufacturing processes. You will play a key role in ensuring the facility maximises its contribution to the success of Turbine Systems while consistently meeting and exceeding customer expectations.

What you will be doing:

As Enterprise architect, you will be operating flexibly across manufacturing processes as defined for component production:

  • Supporting machine tools to ensure effective and efficient operation (e.g. part loading/unloading, inspection, consumable management).

  • Managing cell workflow to ensure the Kanban system operates as designed and production schedules are met.

  • Inspecting output from cells and responding appropriately to any errors in line with defined procedures.

  • Providing team leadership, coaching and support where required, including undertaking additional responsibilities.

  • Maintaining the cell working environment to optimum standards.

  • Working collaboratively as part of a team to produce high-quality products and support continuous improvement activities.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Experience working within a manufacturing or engineering environment.

  • Understanding of production processes and adherence to technical instructions or manufacturing packages.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and take ownership of quality outputs.

  • Experience supporting or operating machinery in a production setting is desirable.

  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles such as Kanban.

  • Experience in inspection and quality control processes.

  • Ability to identify issues and respond in line with defined procedures.

  • Experience in coaching, mentoring, or supporting team members.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards.
