If you're looking for a meaningful challenge, and want to help shape the future of automotive experiences, then read on…
About the role:
We’re looking for a Product Manager to help us redefine our core platform capabilities. In this role, you’ll sit in the engine room of our technical ecosystem, ensuring our platform seamlessly integrates with critical upstream and downstream systems to drive deep operational and business value.
Working on the core backend architecture, you’ll tackle technical and data-heavy challenges. Instead of tweaking frontend flows or optimising user interfaces, you will focus on building robust infrastructure, data pipelines, and system integrations. You’ll own the entire product lifecycle: from planning and technical requirements definition to managing complex backend backlogs and delivering platform features that move the needle.
If you’re a problem-solver who thrives on technical complexity, loves mapping out elegant data transformation solutions, and wants to leave a tangible mark on a fast-evolving platform, we’d love to talk.
What you’ll do:
- Own the Integration Roadmap: Take ownership of specific backend and integration domains within cross-functional squads, acting as the subject matter expert for our platform's core connectivity and system dependencies.
- Map & Transform Data: Define and document technical requirements for mapping APIs, transforming data seamlessly from one format to another to ensure reliable, scalable, and performant system communication.
- Translate Technical Vision: Convert data architecture and integration needs into actionable backend user stories, keeping data integrity and platform health at the heart of every decision.
- Drive Reporting & Data Requirements: Define, implement, and track robust reporting metrics to ensure system health, data quality, and business performance are fully visible across the organization.
- Manage Vendor & System Stakeholders: Act as the primary product contact for third-party stakeholders and internal system owners, aligning integration requirements and managing delivery dependencies.
- Partner with Core Engineering: Collaborate closely with Backend Engineering, Architecture, and Data squads to design scalable, future-proof integration patterns and robust data contracts.
What you’ll need:
- Product Expertise: Proven track record as a Product Manager within Agile squads, with a knack for translating high-level platform goals into highly structured backend user stories.
- Technical & Integration Fluency: Strong understanding of backend architecture, API design, and data mapping. You must be comfortable diving deep into schemas and understanding how data flows and transforms between systems.
- Data & Reporting Acumen: Solid experience gathering and defining technical data requirements, ensuring absolute data integrity and clear reporting across disjointed systems.
- Stakeholder Management: Experienced in navigating and aligning external technology vendors and internal technical squads, managing dependencies without slowing down delivery momentum.
- Collaboration & Dependency Mapping: Demonstrated success navigating cross-functional technical teams—identifying architectural dependencies, negotiating technical trade-offs, and ensuring long-term platform stability.
- Ambiguity & Pace: Comfortable navigating complex "grey areas" with a consultative, structured approach (and the confidence to challenge technical complexity or push back when necessary).
- Hybrid Commitment: Ability to join the team in our London office 1-2 times per week for face-to-face collaboration.
What we’ll give you:
- Compensation: We offer a competitive salary + performance based bonus
- Holidays: We want you to relax, you’ll have 28 days off (plus bank holidays) throughout the year. We also give you an extra day off to enjoy your birthday!
- Benefits + Perks: With private medical insurance, learning and development opportunities and mental health support we’ll give you the extra boost.
- Hybrid Working: We have a flexible working culture here at heycar. With hybrid working in our offices in Holborn (London) and working from home days.
- Feedback: You'll be joining more than just another scale up - our team are at the heart of everything we do; here we don’t leave things unsaid, we encourage honest feedback.
- A Challenge: Fast paced but not fraught. So we need you to keep up, push back and question where you see fit.
- Fun: We provide a fully stocked kitchen and bar, an awesome office environment and epic socials.
If you’re ready to work with a creative, high-performing group of people we want to hear from you.
Please apply directly to this role.
