Position Summary
The Senior Product Owner (PO) is responsible for maximizing product value and guiding the execution of associated with the Banker Experience platform and specifically Interactive Teller terminals. Operating in a sophisticated, scaled agile environment (SAFe, Scrum, Kanban), you will leverage modern AI-assisted development tools (e.g. Copilot, Cursor) to accelerate delivery, optimize story mapping, and streamline the development lifecycle.
You will operate at the intersection of business, technology, and regulatory compliance, owning product outcomes from concept through commercialization. As a key bridge between U.S. stakeholders and global engineering teams, you will translate market needs into scalable, high-impact product capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Backlog Management & AI-Assisted Delivery
- Express & Refine Backlog: Clearly define, groom, and prioritize Product Backlog items to align perfectly with overarching business goals and technical feasibility.
- AI Tool Integration: Collaborate with development teams using AI-assisted tools like Copilot and Cursor to quickly assess technical feasibility, generate pseudo-code for complex domain rules, accelerate the feature-definition process, and other product management functions.
- Transparent Prioritization: Maintain a highly visible, transparent, and clear roadmap/backlog that ensures the engineering team always knows what to execute next.
Product Discovery & Design Collaboration
- Wireframing & Prototyping: Utilize modern product design and wireframing tools (e.g., Figma, Balsamiq, Miro) to conceptualize user flows, map out use cases, and align stakeholder expectations before development begins.
- Modern Product Stack Ecosystem: Leverage advanced product management tooling (e.g., Jira Product Discovery, JiraAlign, Confluence) to feed regional requirements, customer insights, and regulatory changes directly into the strategic product roadmap.
- Innovation: Lead innovation in Interactive Teller / ITM and banker-assisted experiences
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Agile Leadership
- Scaled Agile Execution: Collaborate with Scrum Masters and Release Train Engineers (RTEs) to run high-impact Release Planning, Sprint Planning, Grooming, and Retrospectives.
- Architecture Alignment: Partner with Enterprise Architecture to advance high-level system designs, manage cross-team interdependencies, and ensure technical debt is systematically addressed.
- Regulatory Compliance: Work with regional field marketing and legal teams to interpret complex financial regulations and translate them into actionable, compliant software requirements (PCI, SOC2).
- Data Driven: Define and monitor KPIs for product success (adoption, efficiency, transaction volumes), while using analytics to drive product decisions and continuous improvement
Customer & Market Engagement
- Design solutions: aligned with U.S. branch and teller operations, including:
- Cash/check deposits, withdrawals, transfers, loan payments
- Overrides, dual control, and exception handling
- Ensure seamless integration with core banking systems (Fiserv, FIS, Jack Henry, Corelation) and understand open API standards.
- Support real-time transaction processing across channels (branch, ITM, digital)
- Evaluation of SaaS providers and ability to choose the right technology partners.
- Go-to-Market: Develop pricing, packaging, and monetization strategies.
- Enable Sales with product messaging, demos, and value articulation.
- Support product launches and market expansion initiatives
- Client Advisory: Attend customer discovery calls to capture requirements, advise on upcoming features, and present the long-term strategic direction of the product.
- Commercial Support: Interface with Professional Services to guide product deployment practices and provide technical input/estimates for RFIs and RFPs.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business Management, or a related discipline
- Experience: 10+ years of overall software industry experience, with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on software development experience building complex enterprise product solutions.
- Domain Expertise: Strong working knowledge and deep experience within the Banking and Financial Services industry.
- Proven experience building U.S. banking or payments software platforms
- Strong background in branch banking, teller systems, or assisted channels
- Experience working with global teams in a distributed delivery model
