Product Manager - SEEK Pass

The Role

Reporting to the Principal Product Manager, the Product Manager forms part of a talented cross-functional squad, focused on solving a set of important user Jobs to be Done (JTBD) related to digitised identity and trusted information.

Alongside your co-leaders from Engineering and Operations, you form part of the leadership team of your squad. In our shared leadership model, squad leaders work collectively to shape the roadmap, design, delivery, and optimisation of the Jobs to Be Done and product features within their remit.

The ability to effectively operate within a shared leadership model is highly valued at SEEK Pass. By operating in autonomous & accountable cross-functional squads arranged into a sub-domains, we lift creativity and engagement, develop talent, share context, and scale up the business in a rapidly evolving environment.

Your role will also involve close collaboration with squad team members, other SEEK Pass product managers, SEEK Pass sub-domain and functional leaders, the SEEK Pass leadership team, and potentially various other teams within SEEK such as Product, Strategy, Commercial Excellence / Go To Market, Sales, Marketing, and Strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own a product portfolio aimed at supporting our ambition to add trust to the hiring process across all employment claims
  • Develop a deep knowledge of SEEK and SEEK Pass’ strategy, and translate this into the product strategy, vision, roadmap and OKRs (Objectives & Key Results) for user Jobs to Be Done within your squad along with your squad leadership team
  • Contribute to the development of SEEK Pass’ overall strategy by acting as a subject matter expert for your product portfolio.
  • Build a deep understanding of user and customer needs (through user research, rapid prototyping, feedback, etc.) within your squad, while promoting good design practices that align with SEEK’s Design Principles and branding.
  • Along with your squad leadership team, develop a high-performing team empowered to evolve the product portfolio based on a deep knowledge of our users.
  • Identify and deliver product improvements that solve important candidate & hirer Jobs to be Done (JTBD), and that strengthen our value proposition & competitive advantage.
  • Build collaborative relationships with stakeholders across the SEEK group (e.g. Product Marketing, Design, and other Product Managers) as needed to get things done.
  • Understand and provide visibility of product performance within your squad. This includes understanding metrics, assessing performance, and conducting meaningful experimentation that informs priorities and drives measurable impact.
  • Stay informed about relevant industry, government and competitor moves and incorporate these into future product decisions

Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams to deliver innovative products and outcomes in an environment with high uncertainty.
  • Experience with defining product requirements, tracking performance, exploring drivers, and diagnosing issues.
  • Strong communication skills, with an ability to collaborate across multiple functions and teams, and to build rapport, identify needs, deliver proposals, and influence senior stakeholders
  • Strong judgement and decision-making, informed by strategic & commercial acumen. You readily manage multiple priorities and initiatives, identify trade-offs, and prioritise the critical few things that will have an outsized impact for our users.
  • Comfort with ambiguity, with a proven ability to solve complex and detailed problems using a logical and data-driven approach.
  • Attention to detail, able to identify issues and connect the dots to ensure high-quality products are delivered with consistency.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and initiatives, identifying and proactively communicating trade-offs to SEEK Pass leaders and other senior stakeholders

  • Well developed communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Interest in innovation and new product development.
  • Familiarity with agile software engineering practices and concepts.
  • Experience in online marketplaces and/or other digital businesses.
