Product Manager
About Us
Our mission is to electrify the world’s homes for healthy and sustainable living. Residential electrification is an extraordinary decarbonization opportunity - 145 million homes in the United States account for 20% of our climate emissions. But today electrification is painful - it’s too complicated, time consuming, and expensive. So we’re building a new experience for homeowners, contractors, and utilities. Zero bridges the gap between the digital and the physical with a frictionless experience that makes electrification fast, easy, and affordable. Join our team to build a world class consumer experience that just so happens to electrify America.
About the Role & Your Impact
This is an exciting opportunity to join a talent dense team at an early stage company, led by seasoned tech and operational veterans. At Zero, Product Managers are generalist individual contributors that report to a Lead Product Manager. They are obsessed with delivering value to homeowners and contractors, and are responsible for assembling our value chain. Product Managers shape projects with support from leadership, and keep execution moving through the daily feedback loops of product development. We are relentlessly focused on sustainable productivity. You should expect long stretches of deep work, minimal standing meetings, effective in person collaboration with stakeholders and peers, as well as flexibility around your personal life.
We are hiring Product Managers because we are raising our ambitions. In the age of generative AI, our Designers and Engineers are more productive than ever, and we need to forge the path forward faster to stay ahead of them. We want to launch whole new products to enable our contractors, internal operations team, and B2B partners. This role will define these products, shape the projects, and drive the execution to bring them from 0 => 1.
What You Bring
You are a thoughtful product generalist with strong judgment. You have experience driving product work from discovery through delivery, and you are comfortable balancing user needs, technical constraints, and business objectives. You know when to rely on your instinct and when to rely on the data. You have at least 3 years of professional product management experience, ideally in a fast moving software environment.
You find users fascinating, and are invigorated by the challenge of creating delightful user experiences. You love talking to users, synthesizing patterns across conversations and behavior, and creating structured artifacts that help the team understand what matters.
You are a detail oriented systems thinker. You want to own the whole value chain, not just isolated features. You always anchor your work on user needs, and are excited to meet users where they work, whether in the office or in the field. You may not have experience in construction, building science, or HVAC, but you are eager to dive into the messy world of residential electrification.
You are enthralled with not knowing. You don't know how to put down an unsolved challenge. You love stepping into messy situations, framing the problem, identifying what matters most, and helping the team make progress without perfect information. You know how to bring structure to uncertainty without overprocessing it.
You manage conflict and coordination well. You invite diverse perspectives, engage in respectful debate, and help teams make decisions quickly and thoughtfully. Once a direction is set, you commit and help others move forward.
You are skilled at project shaping and execution. You know how to break complex opportunities into smaller projects, identify the key tradeoffs, and ensure value delivery, even if incremental. You know that product clarity is a competitive advantage, which grows through daily feedback loops between the team and users.
You are enthusiastic about in-person work. You love collaborating with teammates and converging on solutions in real time through whiteboard sessions and collaborative workshops. You want to know your users by name, meet them in person, and see the consequences of your decisions in the real world. You live within 50 miles of Denver, CO or are willing to relocate.
