Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

We are seeking a Product Owner II for the Clearinghouse & Gateway Platform team (India) to act as the critical bridge between Product Management and Engineering. This role is responsible for translating strategic product vision into high-quality execution across complex, high-volume healthcare transaction platforms.

Reporting to the Manager of Product, you will work closely with Product Managers, Engineering, and cross-functional teams to ensure the delivery of scalable, data-driven, and customer-centric capabilities across Availity’s Clearinghouse and Intelligent Gateway ecosystem.

Strategic Product Management

  • Lead product/ feature strategy from concept and definition through launch and ongoing optimization.

  • Identify market opportunities, define product and feature vision, and ensure the drivers of revenue and profitability are in place.

Product Ownership and Cross-Functional Execution

  • Partner with design and technology teams to drive product design, feature definition, prioritization, roadmap development, and planning.

  • Own overall product success by collaborating with product leaders, partners, vendors, and customers to deliver solutions that meet market needs.

  • Support key decisions on roadmaps, go-to-market planning, and delivery priorities while removing roadblocks for delivery teams.

  • Lead as an individual contributor through influence, cross-functional collaboration, and strong understanding of the product management lifecycle and its core artifacts.

Data-Driven Delivery and Release Readiness

  • Use data insights, dashboards, and analytics to guide prioritization and continuous improvement.

  • Support release readiness by ensuring features are production-ready, validated, and clearly communicated.

Innovation and Market Impact

  • Continuously identify opportunities to enhance the platform through automation, intelligence, and AI-driven capabilities.

  • Collaborate with Product leaders to assess market opportunity and product viability, articulate ROI clearly, and serve as a strong internal and external champion for the product.

Must Haves

  • 7+ years of Product Management / Product Owner experience, with strong ownership of product execution.

  • Mandatory experience in U.S. Healthcare RCM, Clearinghouse, or Revenue Cycle platforms.

  • Deep understanding of:

  • Claims lifecycle, eligibility, ERA, prior auth, and payer-provider workflows

  • Clearinghouse operations (validation, routing, transaction processing)

  • Strong experience with EDI transactions (X12), APIs, and healthcare data exchange ecosystems.

  • Experience building or working with:

  • Dashboards, reporting, and analytics solutions

  • Data-driven product features and insights

  • Strong proficiency in:

  • Writing user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional requirements

  • Backlog prioritization and Agile product delivery

  • Experience with Agile/Scrum tools (Jira, Confluence) and working within SAFe or similar frameworks.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to connect business workflows to technical solutions.

  • Awareness of emerging AI capabilities and trends and their application in product development.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • B.Tech (Engineering degree) is required.

Nice to Have

  • Experience building or contributing to AI-native or AI-driven products.

  • Hands-on technical understanding:

  • Exposure to REST APIs, microservices, and cloud architecture

  • Ability to query databases (SQL) for analysis and validation

  • Exposure to:

  • Cloud platforms (Azure / AWS)

  • API platforms or developer ecosystems

  • Healthcare interoperability standards (FHIR, HL7)

  • Experience working on high-scale transaction platforms (millions/billions of transactions).

  • Familiarity with:

  • Data pipelines, workflow orchestration, or billing systems

  • Product analytics tools (Power BI, Pendo, etc.)

  • Experience in a healthcare technology or platform-driven organization.

Key Skills We’re Looking For

Healthcare Domain Expertise

  • Strong understanding of U.S. healthcare revenue cycle and clearinghouse operations.

  • Ability to visualize and optimize end-to-end transaction flows across payers, providers, and vendors.

  • Knowledge of EDI ecosystems and healthcare data exchange patterns.

Product Ownership

  • Strong ownership of backlog and prioritization aligned with business outcomes.

  • Ability to translate strategic goals into clear, executable requirements.

  • Strong judgment in balancing speed, quality, and scalability.

  • Comfort working in ambiguity and evolving platform environments.

Technical & Data Fluency

  • Ability to engage effectively with engineering on APIs, data models, and architecture decisions.

  • Hands-on comfort with SQL, analytics, and dashboards.

  • Understanding cloud-native architectures and distributed systems.

Cross-Functional Execution

  • Strong collaboration across product, engineering, operations, and leadership teams.

  • Clear and concise verbal and written communication.

  • Ability to drive execution while staying focused on customer and platform outcomes.
