Job Summary
At Disney, the Metadata Authority team is building the intelligence that transforms raw video, artwork, and text into rich, structured authoritative metadata—the kind that makes it possible for millions of viewers to discover exactly what they love.
As a Software Engineer, you’ll take the latest advances in Data Architecture and Engineering and put them into production at a global scale. Your work will make our content more searchable, more personalized, and more accessible—whether it’s surfacing the perfect moment in a live sports game, generating a descriptive scene caption for accessibility, or powering a recommendation that sparks someone’s next obsession.
You’ll work with data from across the Disney ecosystem, collaborate with platform teams building our medallion-architecture data foundation, and return enriched, validated metadata into our Source of Truth systems for use in discovery, personalization, compliance, and monetization.
If you want to work at the intersection of media, data and large-scale distributed systems, and your idea of impact is seeing your code directly shape what hundreds of millions of people watch, this is your role.

Take ambiguous or conflicting requirements and bring clarity by proposing different solutions and communicating concrete and concise trade-offs.
Deliver through others by mentoring and empowering junior engineers on the team to develop their skills.
Launch features across the full stack including APIs written in Java that are built in a complex microservice architecture and front-end that integrate with these APIs built with ReactJS.
