Product Validation Engineer
The Allegro team is united by a clear purpose—advancing technologies that make the world safer, more efficient, and more sustainable. With over 30 years of experience in semiconductor innovation, we bring that purpose to life across every part of the business—from breakthrough product development and customer success to how we show up for each other and the communities we serve.
The Opportunity
Allegro MicroSystems is seeking a motivated and technically curious Product Validation Engineer to join our global validation team. In this role, you will be responsible for verifying that our innovative semiconductor products meet the highest standards of performance and reliability. You will work within an interdisciplinary environment, collaborating with Design and Test Engineering to execute automated validation plans. This is an ideal role for an engineer who thrives on solving technical puzzles, has a passion for lab automation, and is eager to grow their expertise in complex IC architectures.
What You Will Do
Develop and execute efficient automated control scripts for bench equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, DAQs) to validate Allegro’s Power and Sensor ICs.
Write and implement clean, optimized test code (typically in Python, LabVIEW, or C++) to characterize new silicon performance against datasheet specifications.
Perform detailed analysis of validation data, identifying trends or anomalies and providing clear, data-driven recommendations to the design team.
Assist in the creation of comprehensive evaluation plans for new products, ensuring all critical circuit blocks are thoroughly tested.
Design and assemble hardware test setups, including custom PCB load boards and interface circuitry required for high-performance validation
Participate in technical reviews and "Design for Test" (DFT) discussions, contributing your insights from the bench to help improve future product generations.
Develop a solid understanding of standard circuit blocks (regulators, amplifiers, oscillators) and begin exploring more complex system-level architectures.
What You Will Need
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or a related field.
Related experience in semiconductor validation, bench testing, or electronics design. (Recent graduates with strong internship experience in lab automation are encouraged to apply).
Foundational knowledge of analog and digital circuits. Experience with lab equipment and at least one programming/scripting language (Python is highly preferred at Allegro).
A self-directed learner with a "consultative" approach; you don't just report a failure—you investigate why it happened and suggest potential causes.
Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues on the bench with a logical, step-by-step methodology.
Strong written and verbal communication skills for documenting test results and collaborating with global engineering team
