Production Engineer, DeepMind (Fixed-Term Contract)

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.
Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage projects of various size and scope, identifying future opportunities, improving processes and driving the technical directions of your programs.

- Ensure optimal performance of our facilities through proactive monitoring, preventative maintenance, and rapid incident response, while managing site upgrades to guarantee long-term operational stability.
- Own the technical design of critical infrastructure, translating organizational needs into scalable solutions by identifying emerging technologies and collaborating with vendors to anticipate future needs.
- Act as the primary escalation point for critical system issues, leading troubleshooting for complex problems and working with internal teams to drive swift resolutions.
- Manage all facility documentation using AutoCAD, oversee suppliers and system integrators, and handle project budgets to determine the feasibility of minor developments.
- Provide technical support for the entire signal chain, including IP video/audio technologies, high-end post-production workflows, and cinema-grade studio and virtual studio systems.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience with IP video and audio technologies (ST2110, AES67, Dante) and baseband video standards.
- Experience with IP video and audio technologies (ST2110, AES67, Dante) and baseband video standards.
- Experience operating studio camera systems, LED walls, and managing technical facility documentation using AutoCAD.
Preferred qualifications:
- 5 years of experience working as a broadcast or production engineer.
- Experience with broadcast AV systems (Ross and Sony switchers, SSL consoles, SAN storage) and internet streaming.
- Experience supporting high-end post-production workflows and providing technical guidance for tools like Adobe Premiere, DaVinci Resolve, and Pro Tools.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain intricate technical concepts and resolve complex technical challenges.
