Production & Materials Planner

About Mach Industries

Founded in 2022, Mach Industries is a rapidly growing defense technology company focused on developing next-generation autonomous defense platforms. At the core of our mission is the commitment to delivering scalable, decentralized defense systems that enhance the strategic capabilities of the United States and its allies. With a workforce of approximately 220 employees, we operate with startup agility and ambition.

Our vision is to redefine the future of warfare through cutting-edge manufacturing, innovation at speed, and unwavering focus on national security. We are dedicated to solving the next generation of warfare with lethal systems that deter kinetic conflict and protect global security.

The Role

We are seeking a proactive and execution-driven Production & Materials Planner to translate demand into actionable production and material plans while ensuring day-to-day alignment between planning outputs and factory execution. This role sits at the intersection of supply chain, manufacturing, and systems—owning build readiness and driving coordination to ensure materials are available, constraints are resolved, and production remains on schedule. The ideal candidate combines a strong understanding of MRP, BOM structures, and production planning with a hands-on approach to problem solving, cross-functional coordination, and real-time execution in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the Master Production Schedule (MPS) across programs and sites in coordination with Production leadership, ensuring alignment to demand, capacity, and program priorities

  • Own MRP inputs, parameters, and outputs, maintaining system accuracy and ensuring planning signals are reliable, actionable, and trusted across the organization

  • Translate MBOM and demand signals into executable production and material plans, ensuring correct timing, quantities, and alignment to build schedules

  • Support capacity and constraint planning across work centers and sites, identifying bottlenecks and driving adjustments to maintain schedule feasibility

  • Support inventory policies including safety stock, reorder strategies, and segmentation to balance availability, risk, and working capital

  • Generate forward-looking material readiness projections and proactively identify shortages, risks, and misalignments before they impact production

  • Ensure alignment between engineering releases, BOM changes, demand signals, and supply plans to prevent downstream execution issues

  • Own daily build readiness by identifying and driving resolution of constraints impacting production schedules, including material, capacity, and system gaps

  • Execute the production and material plan by coordinating material flow, ensuring availability, and aligning supply chain, receiving, and production teams

  • Trigger and coordinate expediting of purchase orders and work orders in partnership with Procurement and GSMs to resolve shortages and maintain schedule adherence

  • Track, manage, and resolve material shortages, WIP blockers, and execution gaps, ensuring issues are driven to closure with clear ownership

  • Manage reschedules, pull-ins, and push-outs based on real-time conditions, maintaining alignment between plan and execution

  • Ensure materials are available, properly staged, and aligned to point-of-use to support efficient production flow and minimize disruption

  • Maintain alignment between planning systems and execution reality, ensuring discrepancies are identified and corrected quickly

  • Ensure accurate, real-time updates across MRP, MES, and supply chain systems, supporting traceability, inventory accuracy, and execution visibility

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience

  • 3–5 years of experience in production planning, supply chain, manufacturing operations, or material management

  • Experience working within PLM, MRP/ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent) and exposure to MES environments

  • Strong understanding of production planning fundamentals, including BOM structures, material requirements planning, and scheduling concepts

  • Experience translating demand signals into executable production or material plans in a manufacturing environment

  • Demonstrated ability to manage material readiness, shortages, or production execution challenges

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to drive resolution across cross-functional teams

  • Ability to coordinate effectively with supply chain, manufacturing, and engineering to maintain schedule alignment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in defense, aerospace, or advanced manufacturing industries

  • Familiarity with environments involving PLM, MRP, and MES systems, including cases where systems are not fully synchronized

  • Experience supporting production scheduling, capacity planning, or build readiness in a hardware manufacturing environment

  • Understanding of inventory management strategies, including safety stock, reorder policies, and material segmentation

  • Exposure to startup or growth-stage environments with evolving systems and processes

  • Comfort working in execution-heavy roles requiring real-time decision-making and on-floor engagement
